dalt isn't a bot, lloyd, i've known him for years. it took awhile for us to become friends, but that's all just ebay stuff from the past. he's a good man,so are you. This is a reoccurring theme between us.....
I am not going to accept that someone is "good" based on someone else's opinion.
I so disagree with some voices online about what they think may or may not think about a particular poster even though I respect their voices n general.
" Different strokes for different folks"....Sly and the Family Stone(I think)
I accept your personal opinion, why not?....but I'll stick with my own.
What I am saying is that if you say "I think that he is a good man" works for me and I respect that.
Saying that "he's a good man" not so much.
bean,if you feel insulted you in any way, i'm sorry you did. i like you,and i wouldn't,and haven't,hesitated to say that you're a good woman. i have no intention of changing the way i speak online or in RL,and that i won't apologise for, to anyone. because i don't THINK dalt and lloyd are good men,i KNOW they are,and that's what i said. i realize that you,and other people have different outlooks of them, and you, and me,and everyone we know online. but i'm not going to say" i think" when that isn't the case. i'm sorry if you have a problem with it,but i'm not changing the way i "talk" ,period. i don't expect you or anyone to just accept ANYTHING i say, ever. i'm not omniscient.

I suspect there are going to be a few bruised egos (not to mention red faces) on the DH politics board if Trump does decide to go head to head with the NRA.

I don't much like Trump- but gotta give credit where credit is due. Glad he's standing up to the NRA... the momentum is there for some common sense changes to the stupidly lax gun laws. I saw a little bit of their "round table" discussion... I have to agree with you Dalt..from what i saw he handled it extremely well

" ...he's standing up to the NRA... " he's also a walking ( when bone spurs allow ), lying ( only when he talks ) sack of shit.
Remember DACA? He rescinds Obamas' order, then ( with major television coverage) SAYS he'll sign ANY bipartisan bill presented to support the program he's trying to kill. THEN what did he do?

From: The Department o' Redundancy Department: In writing, adding "I think/believe/feel" is considered redundant. If one is writing/texting/expressing sentiments, unless one adds a reference, it's a given that the statement is opinion.
Just sayin'.
"Saying that 'he's a good man' not so much." HEY! It's a fact that I have some good moments.
IF I have more "good" then "bad"?

ok, barri, I like you too. Do I agree with everthing you say of course not?
My liking you doesn't mean you(all inclusive you) are necessarily a "good" person. Maybe or maybe not..... maybe someone is thought provoking etc. I like that.....
I like that you contribute so much to online discussion and that you share so much of your personal experience.
There are trolls that I like and some that I loathe.
Lloyd, you are right about the "I think" thing.....
I really have a great deal of affection for you, but you already know that.
I followed you here remember? I know you and I have different opinions of some individuals....same as with barri.
How I feel about someone is based on something more nebulous in addition to whether a person is a "good" person.
Guess that I don't think that my personal opinion carries that much weight, although, I do speak out at times anyway.....

but that's the thing, your opinion DOES carry weight with me, and others who know you. you're a very smart woman, and a strong one. i respect that, and i pay attention to what you say, even if i don't agree, because you can make me see that there are more than just 2 sides of a discussion sometimes. and that there are times when nobody is" right", but nobody is"wrong" either. you make me THINK. and i guess in reference to THIS discussion, "good" is a very subjective word, isn't it? for people, or art, or music.. or miracle whip. thank you for reminding me of that.

what I think about that is that we all have different opinions and make up our minds ourselves
I'm easy, I like everyone here... there are always going to be things I do or don't agree with, but hey, that's life
Noid , I don't think Trunp is a good man... but was surprised to see him have a good "moment" I haven't been keeping up so much with US politics lately, we have so much bad stuff going on in our own country atm

Disclosure....
My second husband was verbally/emotionally abusive. First time in my life that I experienced it. First husband and I have gotten over why we divorced and have been friends to this day.
I went to the library and read books and figured out what was happening to me and made an exit plan that anticipated an acceleration to physical abuse.
My point is that I am sensitive to someone who others think is a great guy/gal when I perceive that they are not. I can't resist the urge to narc them out.....
Not saying that I am always right, but it's difficult to ignore a hard lesson learned.
While I am at it....I am bisexual and have been in a same sex relationship for 30 years.

and i understand that, bean, we talked at length about that ..umm.. in the past. you see the dalt that is abusive in your eyes, when he trolls others. i get that. but IMHO, that ISN'T the real dalt, anymore than noidrhoid the troll is the real lloyd. i'm not trying to change your mind, just saying i DO see where you're coming from, and explaining why i see things differently. and may i say that i'm glad you're safe, and happy and...well, YOU. deb, i wish you were right about trump..i HOPE you're right. but i think he'll flip right back to asshole over the weekend, once he sees campaign pledges going away. and if he does nothing about the situation in georgia with delta, then i'll know i'm right for sure.

Words matter....there is someone on the other side of what you post.. We called truce awhile back and I am all for it.

Here's a gun law that would be almost comical- if the subject wasn't guns. In New Mexico, there are no required background checks for gun sales between private parties- and there's only one exception to the rule- "N.M. Stat. Ann. § 30-22-12(A): May not transfer firearms to a person in custody or confinement without the consent of the officer in charge." consumer.findlaw.com/consumer-transactions/private-gun-sale-laws-by-state.htmlReally? You can't sell a gun to someone who's in jail... and there are lots of states where the, "Private Party" loophole is alive and well. I'm hoping Trump sticks to his guns when it comes to meaningful gun restrictions. We'll see... Shit- having Trump as President seems almost surreal- like a bad dream. OTOH- it is what it is, and hope he doesn't get impeached. IMO- between Trump and Pence; Trump is the lesser of two evils.

Hey Bean- I don't remember exactly what I said to you, and apologize if it was over the top. Wouldn't be the first time... and you're right about sometimes forgetting there's a person on the other side. This anonymous internet stuff enables a person to say things they'd never dream of saying in a RL setting. Cheers!

Hey, Bean. I don't know whether you are a good person or a bad person - but I like you anyway. But then again, according to Stickit I am a slut with the morals of an alleycat, so I'm not sure how much my opinion is worth.

Awwww shucks, Penny.....
My mother used to recite this poem to me quite often.
There was a little girl, who had a little curl, right in the middle of her forehead,
when she was good, she was very, very, good. But when she was bad she was horrid.

dalt, apology accepted.
What you post here is 180 degrees from what and how you posted on cttp although the politics of most of the posters(both there and here) has led to the same alarm at the Trump presidency.
That is puzzling.
Anyhoo, enough drama queen on my part (for now)

it's bad,REALLY bad. 18 wheelers are tipping over on bridges and highways, power is out all over the place, gigantic trees are down... there's flooding as far as 12 miles inland along rivers in massachusetts... the damage is so bad...

honestly, i'm a little scared right now. no word from anyone since 6pm, it's now after 2am,and i should go to bed. i THINK the worst of the storm itself is over, but in new england that doesn't mean much..it will freeze badly overnight.trees explode there. manhole covers have been exploding in taunton, where mt old high school was, because the tides are so high, they are flooding the river, which floods the storm drains.. my people are survivors, always. i just need to remember that, right? they WILL BE OKAY. but good vibes won't hurt, if y'all could send those along..

As barri knows we are both tied to that area of Massachusetts. All of my relatives on my mother's side live within 100 miles from Taunton.
Saw this morning that over a million people are without power. Footage showed power poles downed like dominos.....trees uprooted everywhere.
I think I heard that there are three more high tide floodings before it is all over.
Nor'easters are killer.
Hoping that it at least warms up and the sun comes out, something to help to combat the doomsday effect.
They will be dealing with the aftermath of this storm for a good while to come.
Sending good vibes to all.
