I'm so scared for them. I just wish they could pump all of the water out so they could get them out of there without scuba gear. The worry is that it's still monsoon season. The alternative is just as horrifying, having to leave them there for months.

i hate effing caves . they seem to be maxing out on pumps and may be able to walk (and crawl) them out .

Apparently, there's a skinny part of the tunnel where the water reaches the ceiling and even the divers have found it hard to get through it.

i think i might be a little claustrophobic , this makes me ill . when miners are trapped i feel a tiny bit nauseous as well.

I'm a LOT claustrophobic, no way would I go in any cave.
I'm so scared for the kids, none of them can swim.
I hope they get them out before the bad weather comes, imagine being stuck underground for months.

Even teaching them to swim/scuba dive.. wouldn't be enough, imo. A moment of panic and they'd drown.... not being skilled swimmers.
Unimaginable having your child stuck in there.. poor parents/family.

Awful Fig:(
I'll never forget the two miners from Beaconsfield when they got out, they both grabbed their tags. They were underground for 2 weeks. Probably felt like forever.

That is one option being considered sin but I think it would be probably be too time consuming. The urgency to get them out is because of the danger of imminent bad weather and rising flood levels.
What do the rescuers do if the water starts rising and they’re not ready? Get out and leave the boys to it? Stay with them and risk drowning themselves? It just doesn’t bear thinking about.

just heard that someone turned up with a pump and began pumping the water, but they were unauthorised to do so, and pumped the water above where the children were, and so the water just went back into the cave....also that rains are expected tomorrow, so there is panic, there is a suggestion that the strongest child is brought out now.....that is ominous, it suggests that "it is better to save some than none"....2 children and the coach are "very weak" it is an awful situation, Barri, the children look so optimistic

Monsoonal rain. I can only imagine the worry and fear for all involved. A terrible situation and hopefully the boys are rescued very soon.

There was a mention of some of the boys hearing dogs barking and children shouting (outside the cave). A litle bit of hope that there, that maybe there is a secret entrance to the cave, that if found it could be used to rescue them.

Such a sad and horrible thing - we don't realise how lucky we are.
I can't imagine myself in that situation - how heart breaking and sad
for the families waiting and for the poor kids - just terrible.

Terrible news about the rescue diver. It just brings into even sharper focus what a deadly dangerous exercise it will be trying to “swim” the boys out.

I just want them out. But it's just not that simple. Awful news about the navy SEAL.
There's talk of leaving two boys who are really sick :( and the coach is weak from giving his food to the boys.

even if they have air tanks, there is a part where they will have to remove the tanks because of limited space, and hold their breaths for a fair while....just awful

I get shivers just thinking about it.
Such a fucked up situation for everyone involved. I'm so sad for the parents. I hope they don't know two might not make it out. But I guess they do. That would be extra awful, if some got out and others didn't.

it takes 5 or 6 hours to reach them, so they're a long way in and in some sections the water is low enough for them to walk , but other sections are full of water and so narrow that they have to dive and even take off ther oxygen tanks to be able to fit through
