I think I heard something about the divers needing rest time. Probably some physical limitation about diving I guess.

did you see where irish said that they should get americans to do the job, i hate that attitude that they are better at everything than the rest of the world, a bit racist too, third world cannot possibly have experts I pointed that out to her - she was not amused. i just read that, Penny, she has repeated her statement...such arrogance, sickening to me
They need some real American help, they need one of us to come to the rescue,

haha, Penny, tell her that australia is better than the US.... we have 8 navy divers involved and an australian medical specialist made the decision to remove the weakest boys first

Such good news! I was becoming doubtful that any of the boys would be rescued in time. Fantastic news.

it is very misleading. i read where they have even said 7.
i wish that were true. from last night.
anyway lets hope the rescue moves quickly and they're all safe.
lass is an idiot, no one in their right mind would say such a thing.

There were reports from various media outlets last night about 11pm saying 6 boys had been brought out. With the first four the media were being careful and saying unconfirmed reports at first...until Thai Govt confirmed that
Media is about 500m away from cave entrance.

Yes, lets hope the rest of the rescue goes as good as the first lot.
In an ABC news article it said the two narrow gaps had been widened and the divers wouldn't need to take their bottles off.

It seems Julie Bishop and Trump are taking partial credit for the rescue too.

I'm wondering how long before the whole crisis turns out to have been Obama's fault. I imagine the divers would need a rest as well as the refuelling of airtanks etc. There are two divers accompanying each of the boys, so unless there are enough of them to do it in relay they couldn't keep going in and out nonstop.

Disgusting isn't it.
i mean them taking partial credit.

The divers need to be in top condition, for the amount of hours it takes to make one rescue journey (in and out for them) . They'd need to have their sleep time.

Elon Musk has sent a tiny submarine, not sure if they're going to use it.
Such good news for the families whose kids have come out. They're not sure if the other boys even know they are out- but they hope they have- to encourage them.

my daughter was telling me Elon Musk had some ideas Duffy.. amazing he could make one so quickly
I think the advantage of using the Thai divers is that they're small people and it would be easier for them to fit through small cavities

a submarine? the size of one area is 38cm
it takes 8 to 10 hours to go from where they are to the exit, they are going to need months of recovery after such an ordeal

I read somewhere they have enlarged that very narrow bit, so they don't have to remove the boys' air tanks.

I don’t think the boys have their own tanks penny. They are tethered to the escort divers tank. I also heard something about cave divers using specialised tanks that are by their sides rather than on their backs, making it easier in tight spaces. But I did also hear the passage has been enlarged so no one has to remove tanks.

Activity at the dive site early on Monday suggests that the operation may have resumed or be about to resume. But there has been no confirmation. At least seven ambulances have driven towards the cave entrance

They need Thai speaking divers to be able to communicate with the boys.

I read somewhere they have enlarged that very narrow bit, so they don't have to remove the boys' air tanks. Yes, I read that too..made it wider... so the divers don't need to take their tanks off.. That could have got messy otherwise, with the boys holding on to the divers belt.. wouldn't want them to be separated.

They came out of the cave last night about 9.30pm (AESDT).. which was about 2.5 earliers than expected. The last stretch (all walking, although can be tough in mud) they can stop and rest when they get there. A good head cam video clip in this link.. showing some them going through water. www.abc.net.au/news/2018-07-08/first-boys-rescued-from-thai-cave/9956044
