Thanks Kay. I couldn't remember where I'd spotted it - I was going to say something earlier but thought, no, I'll wait till I can post a link, and then couldn't find it again.

Other articles says it was the Head coach that realised they hadn't returned and went looking for the boys and their coach. He knew where they were heading to....found their bikes in the cave.

kay, thank you for posting the article. as usual, joz and madea are being assholes about my remarks. i'm not surprised they didn't care if those boys lived or died.

they had a lot of trouble with the media, nothing new there, a media helicopter was flying in the rescue helicopter space, and a media outlet was caught listening to the back and forth radio between the rescuers and the outside command...they are being prosecuted

Poor bloke. The ecstasy and the agony.
I did read that dad hung on until the last ones had left the cave. I wonder if somehow he knew.

That's really sad for the doctor.. What a hero he is, he spent 75 hours in the cave with the boys.. His father would be proud of him

just heard that the assistant coach used his (buddhist monk) experience to calm the boys over time, also that he was emaciated when he was rescued
he should be thailand's "australian of the year"

I hope this whole ‘episode’ throws an international light in the statelessness of some of these boys and lots of other people in that area of Thailand. FIFA and ManU can invite them to as many events as they like, but facts are they don’t ‘exist’ so can’t go anywhere, let alone live full and productive lives where they are. It would be great if the international community was now able to pressure the Thai govt into doing something about their plight.

He really should be. He taught them to meditate, which would have helped to keep them calm.
