Kay, did your MIL have an AHD? I don't know what condition she is in, but if she is in a coma, "starving to death" is not as bad as we think it is....it is, in fact, the best option with the least pain ask the doctor, there is often 'another way' if she might have wanted that, and if her relatives agree

Yes maggie. I’m being careful with what I say.
I meant it’s a shame we don’t have legal voluntary euthanasia.

It would give me a lot of comfort to know I had the option, even if I never actually wanted or needed to use it. Penny, it has been shown that of those who have the option (in their cupboard), only about one third actually use it, same with the states in the US, often people get the prescription but never get it filled the reason is exactly what you said, they can relax and enjoy life more without the fear of the unknown future

it is a shame, Kay, we are so far behind much of the world in that hope she has a peaceful death anyway (i am assuming that is what she is facing soon)

what annoys me right now is that i JUST found out that the annual sunflower swap meet is this weekend at my old convention center. county commission, after 44 years, sold their usual time at the usual place to someone else for a LITTLE more money. so they had to take what they could get for timing at C-II, the swap meet people i mean. screw it. i'm going down there tomorrow to support my friends anyway, wind be damned. i'll find something small to buy, come hell or high water. i can't even express how pissed i am right now! this is BULLSHIT!

Not sure if I already posted this Kay. One of my very elderly Aunts (she had Alzheimers) broke her hip. She had the operation and recovered physically but wouldn't eat or drink anything after it.. She went on like that for a month before she died :(

I think you may have fig. I doubt she’ll go on that long. We think she may go over the weekend sometime. In a way I hope she does. It’s no life for anyone the way it is atm.

It's so hard for those who can only keep a bedside vigil, but hopefully your MIL has already passed beyond pain or suffering and is just drifting peacefully towards the end of her journey.

What annoys me...
Rude people. Visited the Handmade market this morning. Food Hall was crowded, asked a lady sitting at a table by herself if anyone was sitting in the other 2 seats... she said..... "Well...can you SEE anyone sitting there..."
There was a LOL moment though, a bit of food fell off her burger/taco/whatever and landed on her white shorts... just after I asked her that...
We just walked off.

I'm annoyed because today I decided to treat myself to my favorite Chinese restaurant (ok, it's the only one in town lol). I was going to do it last Monday (birthday) but funds were low. (I picked up a steak at the grocery store instead).
I go to open the door and notice a sign on the door: eat free on your birthday
There's always next year I suppose.
(And yes I had dim sum but not dim sim)

What a great idea from that restaurant. If you were celebrating your birthday with a dinner out with friends, then they encourage your business and they still make a profit from your friends meals.

Several restaurants do this, most are an hour drive.
I can't believe I didn't know *this* restaurant does it.
I could have had free dim sum!

My neighbours ponies keep coming in to my yard, drinking the water from the bird baths, eating the seed form the bird feeders, pooping anywhere and everywhere and generally making a nuisance of themselves. It started with 3 and one of those very inconsiderately died of colic under my tree. I do feel a bit bad for that pony as I am not a horse person and didn’t recognise her symptoms for what they were. Now there are 6 of the ruddy things. Would it be wrong of me to advertise them on FB? Free to good home, six ponies. Catch them and they’re yours.

Have you talked to the owner? You would think they would fence them in.
Another option is to make a sign for them, "Stay Out". But then you would be saddled (ha) with the burden of teaching them to read.
Oh oh oh - start a pony riding business!

Geez colic?
most responsible horse owners would recogonise that a horse was sick well before it got to that stage and died
not your fault though Clarabelle..they should be keeping an eye on their own ponies

I think if speaking to them directly (the owners, not the ponies) didn't work, I'd be contacting the council or RSPCA. Obviously they aren't taking proper care of their horses.
Unless you mean pony as in $25, or pony as in a (small) glass of beer. In which case I would keep both.

I'd do as Kay suggested. Some of the others may not be in good health, malnourished etc and would need check ups before they're rehomed.
Plus owner needs to be made accountable for them..if they've not been looked after.

What annoys me?.................putting on a clean king size doona cover...............wrestling with the darn thing to get it on our sons bed..............only to find bird poop when I straightened it out.
How come I didn't see it when I got it off the line................or when I folded it to put it in the cupboard.

Our clothes line is away down the back where we can’t see it from the house. Sometimes “someone” forgets they have hung things out there and they have to be washed again because they’ve been out there for days and the birds have pooped on them. That annoys me.

I once left a white skirt drying on the line overnight at my son's house in Darwin. By morning it had been well and truly 'fruit-batted'

It annoys me when you need pepper so you grab the pepper mill and the whole bloody thing fall apart and you end up with peppercorns scattered all over the floor and the cats are giving you looks of contempt because they can't play with the peppercorns because they don't meet the scent standard.
