It's closing in on us. Has he chosen to isolate alone so the rest of his family don't get it?
I had my Booster shot today. Don't know if that will make any difference re catching Omicron.

There’s other stuff going on in that family. They have been separated for a couple of months now, trying to work out how they can move forward. I haven’t spoken about it before because it’s still a changing mess

Just what you needed as a New Year present.  Woolies is a big place so chances are you weren't anywhere near the infected person, but that probably won't stop you worrying till you get the all-clear.

Sister-in-law is in the hospital with Covid.
She was found on her living room floor, her daughter
figures she had been there two days.
Her lungs are full and she is on a ventilator.
They give her a 1% chance to survive.
She doesn't believe in being vaccinated.

Thanks lyn. He said he’s feeling fine, just a bit of a sore throat. Trouble is, I know him and he’ll get cabin fever soon. He had to isolate a while ago because of being a close contact and he nearly drove himself and everyone else insane

I was in the city today and everyone was doing the right thing. I saw very few people who refused to mask up and everyone was checking in. Unlike a few weeks ago when a lot of people didn't bother.
It wasn't really pleasant in town today because it was sooooo hot and the mask made it seem worse.

Good lord, sad story!
This thing is all over the damned map.
I spent 2 months in Mexico, at a place people were coming and going, no precautions. Doing yoga with 20 people, shaking hands, exchanging germs.
Other than gastric distress, no one sick. And no test on arrival.
I want to go back to Asia, and am following a Thailand, and Bali entry thread...
This new variant seems extremely contagious, and very mild. Might be a blessing... most the unvaxxed will get it, and we build some herd immunity(which I believe was why Mexico had no issues... most had already had it)...
In Thailand you test before departure, and IF upon arrival you, or anyone in your group tests pos... off to the hospital you go.
5,000 bucks... insurance covers it if there are symptoms... many times there are not.
I'm reading people now, scheduled to go there in a month or so, PURPOSFULLY getting Covid, to avoid the arrival penalty...
It's gotten THAT insane.

Let’s put it this way, if I have NOT had it it’s a miracle.
I’ve worn a mask maybe a total of two hours the last two years, I shake everyone’s hand…
I was in Bali during the initial outbreak when planes were coming from wuhan
Was just in Mexico around young people partying and having fun… no masks, no concerns.
Felt I had it in Bali… many of us did.
Who the hell knows? Oddest dynamics I’ve ever seen… nothing makes sense

Lol… if anyone should be worried it’d be me… Not super young, and spent a month on the hospital with a lung infection when young… Those who feel vulnerable are the ones who need to lock down… Not those who feel strong enough to battle it… We cannot hide from this disease… It’s here for life As I said, in Mexico no issues… afraid locking down is simply a delay tactic… Lock down the old and weak, and we move on… Granted as hospital capacity is maxed measured need be taken… But herd immunity is the ONLY way out of this one. Hiding won't help. This new variant sounds like a god send... Very mild, very contagious... Vaxxed getting it as well.. Most have cold/flu symptoms two three days then over it. All viruses tend to mutate towards more contagious/less deadly This variant did just that. |

Our elderly neighbor was taken by ambo back to hospital this morning.
Not doing so well. The ambo's usually take about 1/2hr to organize and transport
from there frequently. This morning they were on their way in 5mins.
