Absolutely do not feel bad for me with what I’m about to post.
I was not close to these people. But people that I am close to are suffering from grief.
My step aunt died from Covid two weeks ago. My half brother died from Covid last Wednesday. My BFF’s brother died from Covid half an hour ago.
So much for a “hoax” and “I dont know anyone who has died”.

that's bad news for you, Dawn.... i think some people, or many people, tell porkies about this pandemic to reinforce their 'opinions'

I will feel bad for you dawn, as I do for anyone in any community who has lost anyone to this pandemic, regardless of whether they know or care for them. I don’t know anyone who has contracted Covid-19 but I suspect that is going to change in the near future. I feel relatively safe in that we are both double vaxxed, as are over 70% (>95% 1st dose) in our LGA. We can only hope that vaccination is going to mean less severe illness and transmission.

My former place of employment seems to be the centre of our current outbreak. so far it is confined to employees and they are a pretty healthy bunch, so I doubt we will see any deaths, just hope it doesn’t get in to the wider community.
Tamworth is a bit of a worry, 8 new cases, seemingly out of nowhere. There is also fragments in the sewerage at Quirindi, so all my shopping options are now a risk. And we are out of beer.

Sad to read your message Dawn.
I think the current situation here with the flood gates being opened will
mean it's going to be survival of the fittest.

Today I can go to the pool, tomorrow when lockdown is over I can’t go to the pool because I’m not double dosed. Ridiculous. On the day I was supposed to get beer, I didn’t have room because he made me pick up 4 big 4wd tyres, as well as my 4 castoffs. There’s only so much you can fit in in subaru brumby/brat.

Rooster boy said to tell you, to buy a metal sprinkler and stand on it

9 week lockdown ended in ACT last night at midnight. Still not back to normal though.
Non essential retailers can't open to customers until 29 October (they can offer click n collect). Shops wont have long (6 weeks?) to sell their stuff between then and Christmas Eve..after already being closed for the 9 weeks.
Hairdressers opened today but booked out already till November.
Not allowed to travel into regional NSW yet...ACT says 'No' ..except for essential reasons.

That's very good that you were able to see your parents, deb. You've missed quite a lot of time with them since covid arrived last year.

it was good to see them.. both are struggling a bit healthwise atm but they're still pretty cheery. Their garden looks beautiful, Dad is hanging out to get into Bunnings and get some seedlings next week I had my 2nd jab this morning at the local doctor's and a friend's husband happened to be booked in straight after me.... so that was a bit of fun.. it was nice to catch up with him too,, haven't seen him for awhile either We both had someone to chat to while waiting the 15 mins after vax and already trying to organize when we can out for dinner '

We had 11 local covid positive cases in the past 24hrs. Every 24hrs over the
past about 3 weeks we have had between 4 and 12 each night.

there is something about Thursdays... the numbers are always higher.. both NSW and Vic.... it looks like we have peaked in Vic.. the numbers are coming down but the deaths are rising
I've had a busy week... it's been so good to catch up with friends after coming out of lockdown.... and shopping!
