I’ve just had a covid test. I woke up this morning with a scratchy throat and runny nose and, given our recent trip to Canberra, thought I should get it checked out. My Dr (who took the swab) and I are both pretty sure I’ve just caught a cold from the germy grandkids but better to be safe than sorry. She said I should get the results tomorrow morning.
This is the first cold like symptoms I have had since winter 2019

I hope it's a false alarm Kay.
Lucky I double checked my appointment time. I thought my jab was today, but it's next Tuesday. I was all psyched up for it too.

good news Kay... I see that Katie Gallagher's daughter has it.
NSW is likely to overtake Vic's outbreak last year... I think our max was 700 daily cases
NZ have confirmed today that their outbreak comes from Sydney

I worked with Katy Gallagher’s mother. She was one of the strongest, most feisty women I have ever known. One of our nieces did some teaching at the school Evie goes to. She has had a negative test thankfully. Canberra is such a small place - everyone knows everyone
My sister was driving thru Auckland from Coromandel to Northland when the lockdown was announced. She got home quick smart!

Hahaha. I'm so glad it is a parody account. I think we've all seen anti vaxxers that probably think this way.

God this NSW messaging is so frustrating - and so Sydney centric. I’m fine with wearing a mask whenever I’m outside, but for Gladys to say it’s because I might “bump into someone” - what the?? If I had “bumped into” one of the 6 other people I saw on our walk today I should lose my walking license! I can move about anywhere within my LGA, but don’t travel further than 5km. My LGA is more than 60km from one end to the other! (that one at least has since been clarified)

If she is serious face masks should be mandatory outdoors for all.
You can walk with a mask on that's all the exercise needed during
this time.

Not even a swooping magpie.
Just caught a prediction by someone whom I didn't catch their name/title
5000 covid cases per day by next month.

A nice wide path there, Kay.
There were a few out walking when I went out yesterday afternoon for a walk on a pedestrian/bike path. (People on bikes whizzing past also)
Walk was bordering reserves..so I was a bit wary about swooping magpies ..and snakes! ..a bit early for both of them yet????
A very kind couple here (with help from others) have been cooking meals for those out of work and others in need of food.. they cook 2000 meals a day delivered to homes. Funded by the couple. They have a commercial kitchen. They're up to delivering 5000 meals a day now and have just started to accept monetary donations so they can keep going. Volunteers deliver the meals. People wanting a meal just have to pm their address via fb.

I'm booked for my first AZ shot on Wed. Pfizer is too hard to come by and I can't afford to wait for it

Pfizer is available for the 16-29yo's here..which probably is good as the young ones are getting covid. The 30-39 yo's were eligible from beg of this month.
(I have had both my AstraZ vaccines).

It's supposed to be here too Fig.. but my GP doesn't have any. one of my nieces got her first Pfizer at the Exhibition centre and was told to book her second shot at either Shepparton or frankston... which are a long way from Melb. (I don't understand her being told that)
My daughter tried to book in at a local hub.. but they're booked out until Sept. ( she's decided she'll have the Az )

OMG I think I just heard Kerrie Chant say she doesn’t expect primary school kids to go back to FtF learning this year! I suspect she meant Sydney schools but still. That would be crushing news for parents to hear

I resent being forced into having a vaccine. I’m also annoyed that a pfizer booking isn’t available until Nov. I should be in Walgett working by then, if we are allowed to travel to other lga’s without vaccination. If not, then we are fugurked. Not happy Jan

I hope we keep our border with NSW closed..nearly a thousand cases today snd she's announcing some easing of restrictions tomorrow..a week or 2 ago, NSW stopped publishing exposure sites😯
What's with all the people dying in their homes in NSW? Up to number 7 yesterday
almost forgot to mention, no side effects so far from this morning's Az shot and daughter managed to get a booking for Az in mid Sept ( she is in The Pz age group though)

Deb I got a reaction the next day with the first jab. The 2nd nothing
all good. They are mostly non speaking English families who are
dying at home Deb.
Regional NSW covid cases appear to be around the Dubbo and surrounding
areas. I hope we don't have to suffer further lockdown in our area. No cases here
and we have been in lockdown for 2 weeks.

Hubby got his first az shot yesterday. No side effects yet. He is complaining of being cold, but to be fair, it is cold outside and he never wears longs pants, just shorts, regardless of how cold it is. A pair of scumbag tradies from sydney have gone to Orange whilst positive, setting off a cluster there. They lied about having a test done.

We are all on high alert here. They have found strong covid traces in the sewerage in Merimbula. There is a lot of chatter about people coming from Sydney and Canberra when they shouldn’t

Are you selling it privately Lyn? That would be tricky. My neighbours bought a new car from a dealership in the next LGA to us just days before we got locked down but hadn’t taken delivery. They traded in their old car. She got an exemption from NSW Health to drive to Nowra to do a contactless exchange.

Regional NSW lockdown extended as well. Looks like we won’t be getting to Bundy for fathers day. The family is still trying to get together to sort out FIL’s estate, 14 months down the track.
Fragments found in Tamworth sewage. Tamworth has been in lockdown for a while after a positive case from New Castle decided to go on a jaunt a few weeks back. They are having a big vaccination drive in the region this weekend, but only AZ vaccine.
Hubby said his arm was a little bit tender at the injection site. I think he has to wait 8 weeks until the next shot.
