We are also free, both fully jabbed but never leave the house locally without wearing our masks.
It's a mess and will stay that way whilst ever these entitled idiots believe they have a
right to spread their germs around. That idiot who travelled to Byron Bay needs a good
smack up the whiskers.

We have been really lucky here in Tassie.
No community transmission in about 400 days.
Last week a guy traveled here from NSW............and when he got here he didn't have his G2G pass.
So............he was sent by taxi to Peppers Hotel for quarantine....Covid tested.
He was allowed to leave Tasmania before he got the results........and went back to NSW...............(How the heck was that allowed)
Of course he tested positive to the delta strain.
Lucky the guy was mainly in masked areas...........(airport and the quarantine).........and the taxi driver and people on the plane are all negative.
But this is how easy it is to spread.
Hubby was in Launceston working last week.............he deals with people every day..............he comes home to me............I deal with people every day.
I see our grand children most days...........the eldest works part time in a Supermarket.
Boom................covid would be everywhere.
Our daughter who is pregnant asked her Doctor about getting vaccinated..............and she has been advised to get it done............as it is only a matter of time before Tassie gets hit.

I'd keep the mask on. Vaccinated people can still get covid..not nearly as bad as unvaccinated people but you can still get sick.

#1 son has spent all day in an emergency testing clinic - Iām not sure why, could be because of his work. He says itās absolute chaos
[edit] whoops, I read his message wrong. He has been setting up an emergency testing clinic all day, not sitting in one. Phew!

Very good that you didn't go to the Cbr Outlet Centre,Kay. Last time I went there it was mid week, raining, school holidays it was packed with people & very noisy. Get to close to other people when walking around.

No, no, no..been advised not to do that. edited to add: "Stay home orders will apply to anyone who was in Canberra on or after 5 August. Stop the spread and donāt leave Canberra. Iāll be asking Commissioner Fuller to ramp up police resources on the South Coast looking for blue and white number plates. How can some someone in prison test positive before release, and a week later there are no other recorded cases from that prison or even that town? At this stage there arenāt even any cases in close family contacts. Makes me think it was a false positive. Or perhaps itās part of the conspiracy to scare people in to getting the vaccine......

There is 1 case in Walgett, so they say. He made his way home from Bathurst after being released on bail. There are also a couple of cases in Dubbo I believe. Half of central and northwest NSW has been thrown in to lockdown. I guess itās only been 5 days and test results are taking 4 days or longer. Extra staff and 2000 pfizer doses are being sent to Walgett area. My area is not in lockdown but we canāt go very far because the surrounding LGAās are in lockdown.

He was released from prison before covid test results were available? Prison system under fire after inmate exposes rural community to COVID"The small remote northwest town of Walgett has been forced into a snap lockdown due to a leak from a regional prison. A 27-year-old COVID-positive inmate of the Bathurst Correctional Centre was released into the regional community on bail on Monday, where he came into contact with at least a dozen people. Under routine surveillance, the prisoner was tested on Saturday, but returned the positive result four days later on Wednesday.Walgett Mayor Ian Woodcock told Deborah Knight the community is ādisappointed about whatās happened, and the way itās happenedā. āYou would think that youād wait for the results ā¦ weāve got to live with it now.ā

Sounds like there have been 2 more cases detected. Indigenous folk have not been wearing masks out there because itās not in their culture :eyeroll, which has put my SIL at risk. She works at the local servo which gets a lot of people through getting their chipsān gravy The bloke released from prison should have isolated until his results were back.
I had to snort today, reading a fb post by the local drug dealer, complaining that he had seen at least 5 people in town that he did not recognise, and carrying on how out of towners and travellers shouldnāt be allowed in town. Firstly, the virus has been brought back by a local, not a nomad, and secondly what was he doing wandering around a town in lockdown to notice 5 unfamiliar faces. Lol. What a twat.
I do feel for them, itās a tiny town with a club, a pub, 2 servos, a coffee shop and the IGA. at some point the entire population will cross paths in these businesses. Itās a frightening time for the little outback communities.

The virus is certainly gerting out of hand in NSW now.. Did ACT ever confirm that their cases (19 today) had links to NSW? I also qualify for pfizer Pepe.. but I probably won't be able to find any..will start my search in the next week or so, but I'll probably settle for Az. Another 2 weeks lockdown for us in Vic..too many mystery cases and people partying

The first (recent) covid case in ACT was linked to Sydney through genomic tracing..but the man who has covid hasn't left ACT in 3 months..so unable to pinpoint how he caught it/who he caught it of. He was very active (out & about) in the community (before he got tested) and that resulted in many others getting infected.
