That pedestrian bridge collapse in Florida was pretty bad. I wonder where the steel came from

It'll be awhile before they know what went wrong I reckon Bean. Interesting how it was built on the side of the road and then put into place

REVEALED: Wildlife protection board is stacked with trophy hunters - many tied with Donald Trump Jr. - who have power to rewrite rules for importing animal heads and hides from Africa A United States advisory board has been created to rewrite federal rules for importing the heads and hides of African elephants, lions and rhinos - but it is stacked with trophy hunters tied to President Donald Trump's family. Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke appointed 16 board members to the International Wildlife Conservation Council. But a review by The Associated press of the background and social media posts from the members indicates they will likely agree with Zinke's position that the best way to protect critically threatened or endangered species is by encouraging wealthy Americans to shoot some of them.
One appointee co-owns a private New York hunting preserve with Trump's adult sons. Read more: www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5508475/Trump-wildlife-protection-board-trophy-hunters.html#ixzz59xmHcKyUFollow us: @mailonline on Twitter | DailyMail on Facebook i feel sick after reading this

Alright here it goes...
That part bolded a few posts back about wealthy Americans...
It's actually true and I would never have believed it if I hadn't read up on and watched documentaries about elephants and rhinos.
I know it sounds horrific. But the wealthy American with the tiny penis who kills an endangered animal legally is supporting the costs of conservation. I know it sucks that one has to sacrifice their own life so that thousands will be protected... but this is what it comes down to. They (Africa and ) cant afford to keep the preservations without money. The wealthy tiny penised Americans who want to prove their manhood are paying a ton of money that goes to the animals. It's sick. It's twisted. It's the only thing working so far.

PS
Remember I bought just shy of 10 acres to keep the land intact. It's always been a goal, since I was a child... To have natural land with animals. There is a safe place here for all (except a few wasps). I am a tree hugging conservationist. Environmentalist.
I just want everyone to know that's who I am- I know my post above seems like I want an elephant to die... I don't.

I don't know if any of y'all heard about this, BUT... There was a "rising GOP hopeful" in the U.S. state of Maine, LOVE that place! Spent not enough of youth there. running, unopposed, for Maine House Representative, decided he'd heard #ENOUGH from stupid, traumatized teens... “There is nothing about this skinhead lesbian that impresses me and there is nothing that she has to say unless you’re a frothing at the mouth moonbat,” Gibson wrote on Twitter...
Gibson also attacked Parkland student David Hogg as “a bald faced liar” in another tweet. “Hogg doesn’t get a pass when he blatantly lies.” The story has a VERY happy ending. Read it Here& Here

"the best way to protect critically threatened or endangered species is by encouraging wealthy Americans to shoot some of them."
....and in the case of threatened or endangered human beings, sell them guns to kill each other ..... starvation of mind and body isn't fast enough.
Does having wealth give a person the power of life and death over other living things simply to feed his/her greed? Seems so.
Yeah, I know that there are some wealthy who donate for the wellbeing of others....not enough.
And, go young people!!!!

this is kind of interesting
The data analytics firm that worked with Donald Trump’s election team and the winning Brexit campaign harvested millions of Facebook profiles of US voters, in one of the tech giant’s biggest ever data breaches, and used them to build a powerful software program to predict and influence choices at the ballot box.
A whistleblower has revealed to the Observer how Cambridge Analytica – a company owned by the hedge fund billionaire Robert Mercer, and headed at the time by Trump’s key adviser Steve Bannon – used personal information taken without authorisation in early 2014 to build a system that could profile individual US voters, in order to target them with personalised political advertisements.

Yet another school shooting in Maryland? When will it get through to people in America that guns guns and more guns are not going to help?
I think that the US has lost it's way.

Speaking honestly and realistically, what percentage of the American populace do you feel is represented by the gun toting hillbillies on the politics thread. They frighten the hell out of me sometimes.

Penny I can't begin to guess a statistic.
I can tell you this about where I live.
The schools here had a "Prayer In" instead of a "Walk Out" on March 14. No one is keeping prayer out of schools.
The government buildings decorate with Christanity on Easter and Christmas. No one is keeping religion out of government. (I even noticed a bible at the property tax office and a biblical display at the drivers license office- throughout the year, not limited to holy days).
No one is running dogs after quarry and abandoning them. (Just the opposite- you can get into a lot of trouble harming a hunting dog even if it's on your property).
Not many want to have an assault weapon at all. Not many think they (they??) are coming after our guns.
I could go on but have to get ready to "stock groceries at my desk" 😂.
Just please don't believe what you read over there represents the USA.
There are a lot of delusional people on that board.

Would really like to see some stats
Church and state are meant to be seperate... but it's creeping into our Govt. too
Dawn, I suppose some areas are moreso than others?

the rabid animals you see at the RU are NOT the norm. they aren't even normal by the standards of most conservatives. they really ARE the lunatic fringe. BUT . they are out there, in every state, even the bluest of the blue states. my guess would be that they represent about 5% of the total population, maybe 15% of the conservatives. the BIG problem is the fact that those people own SO MANY guns. and some of them are REALLY good talkers, unlike most of the RU maniacs. they could easily inflame an angry crowd in to doing something stupid. and i do mean on either side. i've seen the anger when people get mad at crazies,as well as with crazies, if that makes sense.

Yes, it makes perfect sense. I thought, or t least hoped they would only represent a small lunatic fringe - I guess it's just that they have found a nice little niche in the politics thread here.
