if you, or anyone else here, is interested, i'd be happy to PM a link to a DECENT political board where there are rules, and you won't see those kind of crazies , or their insults. i love my friends at CTTP, but ...well... moldy posts there, and spews the crap that you normally hear from tarheel or mars on his own board. not allowed on this other board( and you CAN read it without joining!) . plus lots of weird fun stuff too! like here!

It's a small but LOUD percentage, made up of mostly cyber-blowfish, puffed up on free electrons, easy access, spurred on and amended by enemies of Democracy.
Somewheres around here I have some stats on gun ownership ( left them on the goog, dang it! ); think I found them on Thinkprogress.org but it might have been boingboing.net...
Anyway, they are astounding!
Small percentage of Americans own guns & a LARGE percentage of those folk support reasonable, rational, restrictions.
( and the numbers ARE astounding. Lemme go dig for that source. )

I'm not political... but I asked my friend who is running for trustee if there's dem vs rep in our local government.
He laughed.
"There's no democrats in our county. If there were, they wouldn't win".
Almost makes me want to run for one of those cushy once a month jobs. Ha. Almost, but not really.
So I had to make fun of republicans.... I asked him if he is friends with Mr Weaver. Of course he is.
I said he might want to mention to Mr Weaver that his campaign signs aren't great.
"Pull the lever
Vote for Weaver"
He tells me, yeah that is silly because you don't pull levers anymore.
I told him it's silly because it doesn't rhyme.
Add that aspect about the lever not existing and it would seem these republicans can't get anything right.

people tend to either like or dislike dentists so that helps to swing it your way Dawn . i dislike my dentist .. he uses a nappy/diaper bag as a briefcase (with pastel ducklings ) on the other hand my significant other ( i don't like that either , everyone is significant ) likes the dentist due to 'services to her teeth ' his name is actually Donald ( explains the pastel ducklings i guess )
once i offered him a nice briefcase gratis and he refused without a thought .. people envy my vintage leather-goods ! how dare he .

A person with a good heart, holding the post can do WONDERS for the community. A sleeze? ...can line their pockets & fuck a county/many communities ( an entire county of Americans, including women & children ) without anybody ever knowing. I think you have the Heart AND the Mind for the job BUT it's not just knowledge & ability, is it? |
