The IPA has been significantly funded by Hancock Prospecting, of which Gina Rinehart is the Executive Chair. Hancock Prospecting paid the IPA $2.3 million in financial year 2016 and $2.2 million in financial year 2017, which represents one-third to a half of the IPA's total revenue in those years. In 2013 the IPA celebrated its 70th anniversary, MCed by political commentator Andrew Bolt. Notable in attendance at the celebrations were:[26][27] Gina Rinehart Rupert Murdoch Tony Abbott - then Liberal Opposition Leader George Pell - Australian Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church Michael Kroger - then President of the Victorian division of the Liberal Party of Australia and former director of the IPA Mitch Fifield - Liberal Communications Minister Robert Doyle - then Liberal Lord Mayor of Melbourne (later resigned in disgrace in relation to sexual harassment of a female councillor) Denis Napthine - then Liberal Premier of Melbourne en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Institute_of_Public_Affairs

many people wouldn't be aware that Pell is an IPA member, but he is during his court case the IPA were raising money for his defence this hasn't been widely reported but www.news.com.au/national/george-pell-speaks-out-after-high-court-quashes-conviction/news-story/e90f648f8e94981a4bdb5ce0c4bb5d6bCardinal George Pell is being investigated over new child abuse allegations made by a different accuser according to reports. The Victorian Police have been secretly investigating the claims according to an exclusive report from the Herald Sun. The accuser is a male who works in a professional role who made claims about alleged child sex abuse that date back to the 1970s. that news story broke just after he blamed the ABC (in true IPA fashion) www.skynews.com.au/details/_6148979472001Cardinal George Pell has revealed he is concerned the national broadcaster is engaging in the “overwhelming presentation” of a single viewpoint which he says is a “betrayal of the national interest”.

Barnaby Joyce, “a champion of traditional marriage while practising traditional adultery”

Except for the fact that I don’t want to help line another millionaires pockets, I think it would be quite a good read. I reckon I’d get plenty of laughs. I’ll wait until it gets into the remainders bin

on the same day that 'team Australia" are trying to convince everyone to trust them and download their tracking app "you can trust us with your data" Morrsions office is caught circulating a pirated copy of Turnbull's book..... oh, the irony www.brisbanetimes.com.au/politics/federal/turnbull-s-publisher-to-refer-copyright-breaches-to-afp-20200419-p54l82.htmlMalcolm Turnbull’s publisher will escalate a legal row with the Morrison government over a “massive” breach of copyright by targeting senior ministers who received pirated copies of the former prime minister’s new book. Publishing company Hardie Grant will refer the breach to the Australian Federal Police and is considering whether to serve subpoenas on members of the government to force them to disclose the source of the illegal copies.

www.afr.com/policy/foreign-affairs/forrest-s-virus-supplies-shipment-not-fully-clinical-grade-20200406-p54hkzMr Cook said there was potential for community workers to use some of the equipment that didn’t meet clinical standards. He later clarified his comments after Minderoo was questioned about the status of the equipment, saying: “As I stated earlier today, not all the equipment sourced by the Minderoo Foundation has been classified as clinical grade, but this was never the intention. " Minderoo paid cash in advance for the supplies, with WA and other Australian governments expected to reimburse Minderoo for any goods used. Minderoo covered the cost of transporting the goods to Perth. I suppose what Forrest can't sell... he'll just write off in tax

contrary to propaganda.. schools in Vic aren't entirely closed... anyone who needs to send their kids to school can.... just that most parents are choosing not to

i heard this morning the real reason for closing schools which i hadn't heard before, nothing to do with the children ......it is to stop people moving around, teachers and parents
there is a backlash against teachers, some people want them to take a big pay cut "because they are not teaching full classes"

That’s ridiculous. They are still teaching full classes, the kids just don’t happen to be contained in the same room. The work that teachers have done to accommodate remote learning is amazing and they deserve more money, not less. Besides which, the notion that remote learning is somehow inferior is pretty insulting to all the students and teachers who normally use School of the Air.
Getting kids back into classrooms is simply the blunt instrument this lnp govt is using to get people back to work and “save” the economy.

the classes are gradually getting bigger because the mothers can't manage the children at home, some of the parents are not co-operating with teachers re remote learning.....a big mess so far

if your teachers have to spend as much of their salary on classroom supplies as ours do in a normal school year, they DEFINITELY deserve a huge raise.

Barri, good teachers do spend a lot of their own money on resource material, ordinary classroom needs are provided, but they are well paid here

not here. when you're only making 28 grand, spending 25% on the supplies the school system should be giving you is ridiculous. parents help when they can, and people like me who use the programs that give them supplies( like box tops for education), i just think it's disgusting that they have to do this to teach properly. i can see spending your own money for super special stuff, but NOT for things like paper,or printer's ink, you know?

it IS awful.i'm hoping that there may be a small silver lining to the schools shutting down, maybe people will do the right thing and make sure their kids schools get the money they need. but i'm not holding my breath.

Well that’s a damn shame. Scott Morrison just phoned us on our landline. Now I’m going to have to chuck the handset out. I’m not wasting a antiseptic wipe on him!
