Sarah Harris needs to keep an eye on her. Kak wants her job badly. She took over her seat one day last week and "joked" this is where I belong. Kak is not a team player and yes, she is very white privileged and seems to be very right wing. Sky should definitely give her a job.

I've already posted about it in the Parlour, but, thanks, anyway, Deb. Much appreciated.
I really, really like Dan Andrews. If he hadn't made an exception, Behrouz would not have been eligible.
I hope that this win and the subsequent publicity will inspire more people to step up and speak out for those held in indefinite detention. Only 12 days until the Phelps bill is voted on in the Lower House and, hopefully, Cathy Mc Gowan will make the right decision and not vote against it.

What is wrong with that Deb. Morrison should have been on to that immediately. It's a disgrace.

It's a good thing imo Joono... It was our stupid AFP who tipped off the Thai police in the first place. Morisson is dragging his feet on it

at last, a royal commission into aged care, am hearing awful details, eg, doc might prescribe a sedative, but there might be no trained staff to administer it correctly, so they just give it when they choose heard that one of the commissioners is richard tracy, now that is unkind...to give that name to a boy When Mum was in the NH they sat at a table of 4 for meals. She stopped them giving the wrong residents medications that were for another resident, also found medications on the floor under the table where they had been dropped.

Oh, no! There has been so much happening trying to get this young man returned home to Australia. Well done, Australian authorities. Well done, Australian government. Another young man's life put in danger. Hopefully, something positive will happen during those 60 days.

www.abc.net.au/news/2019-02-02/hakeem-alaraibi-to-face-long-trial-if-refuses-to-go-to-bahrain/10773500Melbourne-based refugee footballer Hakeem AlAraibi could face a lengthy trial if he refuses a formal request from Bahrain to extradite him from Thailand. The 25-year old will go before Thailand's criminal court on Monday, in shackles and prison uniform, more than two months after his arrest as he arrived in Bangkok on his honeymoon. The hearing is expected to be brief but will start a legal process that could drag on for six months or more, during which time Hakeem AlAraibi will remain in a Thai prison.

I see that Morriscum and the Toxic Tuber are crowing about no children being left on Nauru. The final four and there families have been accepted as part of the US deal but are still on Nauru. I don't think that the departure date has been given, yet. I expected them to do this just prior to the Lower House vote on the Urgent Medical Evacuation Bill. I expect them to do something like medivac a token amount of people from Manus or Nauru this week.
What good ol' Daggy Dad, saviour of children, has failed to convey is that up until last week, his government was still fighting in Court, the transfer of these children to Australia What he also fails to mention that the children he says that he had removed from Nauru - most of these were Court ordered - are still being imprisoned here. They are locked in rooms with the family members who came with them and there is at least one guard positioned at the door. The kids want to go to school and don't understand why they can't.

Remembering when her husband had his accident. KAK with all her knowledge and know how when interviewed by 60 minutes KAK in all her glory starts the blubbering with full face makeup and non water resistant mascara. She looked like she had done a round in the ring with Horne, she had streaked mascara all down her cheeks everywhere. Talk about a dramatic look for poor KAK

It's crazy how they promote private health care. When something goes seriously wrong as in life threatening it's all free anyway and I should know that. We have always gone with medicare and paid the extra tax because of higher income. Some things have come up with whatshisface and he has paid for it himself instead of going on a waiting list. If he paid all that money for years it would have cost ten times more.

We’ve dropped all the extras health cover and self insure now. We put aside what we were paying in premiums, earn the interest ourselves, and pay for anything out of that fund. We’re well ahead so far.

good idea Kay, (what you're doing re: health funds keep an eye on them everyone , on April 1st. they're removing a heap of things from your cover and it's very difficult to find out what you're actually covered for and what you're not covered for when Alison broke her wrists ( she has top cover with medibank private. with extras) she was on the operating table and found out she wasn't covered for broken wrists.. the surgeon re-sheduled her to a couple of weeks later and operated on her as a public patient ( apparently they do a certain amount of public patients )

I only have extras now but am thinking about saving enough money to cover dentistry etc, then cancel it. Dentist twice a year unless there is an emergency, glasses once every couple of years or when needed, a bit of physio from time to time, everything else is reduced or covered by medicare.
