Malcolm Turnbull has capitulated to rebels in the Coalition party room, dumping a plan to embed emissions reduction targets in Commonwealth legislation.
To appease critics and lessen the prospect of a backbench revolt, the Prime Minister will instead propose setting emissions targets by regulation, which does not need the assent of Parliament.
this weak man cares more about hanging onto his job than he does about our country

Mr Dutton confirmed on Friday he is considering all his options, including resigning his ministry and leading a mass exodus of Coalition MPs across the floor, Nine News reported.
Another Minister told Nine News: 'If the only way this thing gets up is with Labor's support then there is no way it will fly'.
'There are only two good outcomes here - either the energy policy is dead and we can go to the election fighting Labor on it, or Malcolm goes,' an unnamed MP told The Daily Telegraph.

Can we please swap out Fraser Anning for Alpha Cheng .... If I, of all people, can think this way, then sure as hell our "elected" representatives can think this way too ... and while they are at it, cease the never-ending scapegoating. For there are no easier targets than those who don’t look or sound like you, and the dead. While I do admit that I’m tired of having to say this over and over again, and despite the fact that regardless of these efforts my father will never walk into my home again to share food with my mother and sister, I’m not going to stop seeking out the beauty, friendships, and empathy of those who make Australia worth standing up for in the first place.
Our futures are shared. Let us not forget that.www.canberratimes.com.au/national/if-anyone-would-want-to-ban-muslims-it-should-be-me-but-i-don-t-20180817-p4zy5w.html

Deb that's a great opportunity for those who haven't got the cash
up front for solar panels. Yes that's what the Fed Gov should be doing but
they don't have the forethought.

it's funny how that was on the news yesterday.. along with all the leadership challenge talk
the story has been around on twitter for a long time and Hugh Rimmington insists it wasn't a leak
some are saying the the PMO was involved

I feel like I’ve known that for a while but forgotten about. Wasn’t it something known around the time of ABC child care collapse?
