Hi, can I ask you all to sign and share this petition please. This is one of our few Aussie owned dairy companies. It’s getting shafted for a Japanese owned company. www.megaphone.org.au/petitions/local-milk-in-local-hospitalsOh, according to their privacy statement, you will most likely get emails and stuff, so if you have an email you use for junk mail and forums etc, use that one. Thank you. Before the far north coast turned to tourism, it was all about dairy farms and fishing trawlers. My sister has our grandfathers little notebook where he wrote daily milk production, how many milk and cream cans he took down to the milk box for the truck to pick up, and how much money he got. It was all done by hand back then. I still love the smell of dairies . All the cows had names, my favourite was a jersey called Doodle. She would flap her ears at you when you talked to her. We used to ride Helen, and pinch china pears off the tree in the backyard to feed to Tiny. Norco milk does cost a bit more, but its 100% Australian, and an Icon.

this was an interesting turn around in the courts today
He said there was evidence of talks involving Boral, former prime minister Tony Abbott and former Victorian premier Denis Napthine.
hmm what did all those royal commissions cost tax payers again?

heard a discussion this morning about the perhaps 100 athletes from the games who have outstayed their visas and are applying for asylum... the pres of the refugee council said that dutton "is not the policeman of australia"......perfect, that is just what he considers himself
Clarabelle, my mother grew up on a dairy farm, while i visited only a handful of times, i remember the smell of the dairy, nothing like it.....i wonder if they still smell the same now that they are so automated and cleaner

He has a follow-up appointment booked and physio will be organised when the time comes. I heard about funds that were raised for another man who needed an urgent appendectomy. This sort of thing should not be happening.

here's one for the Waussies
THE crisis engulfing the Liberal Party over its Perth by-election no-show fiasco has deepened, with one senior Liberal now threatening to take the matter to the Corruption and Crime Commission and another moving to overturn the decision at State council.

and this is interesting:
As many as 14 Coalition MPs are under a citizenship cloud as the attorney-general says federal politicians must show renunciation documents.

The citizenship thing is turning into a bit of a farce isn't it?
The Perth by-election won't bother me personally. It's not my electorate and I wouldn't be voting Liberal anyway, but it must be very frustrating for those living there who are Liberal voters, especially since voting - or at least going through the motions - is compulsory.

have they said why they're not running a candidate Penny?? it all seems a bit weird to me
The HC rulings ended up being a bit of a fiasco... 1st ruling... 'reasonable steps must be taken" six months later 2nd ruling "reasonable steps"" not good enough, must have full renunciation at time of nomination
the Constitution should probably be changed but all current sitting members should have to comply with the current law as so many have already been caught out by it

The seat is held by Labor with a 3.3 % margin, but the Turnbull Government have decided it's not winnable and therefore aren't bothering to contest it. The coalition got thrashed in the last State election and I think they want to avoid the embarrassment of another debacle so close to a federal election year.

Current Govt is a circus... I don't like Ann Sudamalis, pity she didn't get shafted. She was friends with the woman who had that seat before her (Gash).... (they live in the same house or did at time of last election.).... She made a public gaffe when she was first elected... claimed something Turnbull hadn't said/approved of. I think she has a ? over her UK heritage too. I didn't like those two senior womens attitudes towards refugees. NSW south coast seat of Gilmore "Embattled Liberal MP Ann Sudmalis will be spared an internal fight to keep her seat after Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and other senior MPs hit the phones to save her from an ugly defeat. The intervention also shields the Turnbull government from suffering the loss of another female MP, after assistant minister Jane Prentice was dumped by preselectors in Queensland earlier this month. Ms Sudmalis had been facing a rout at the hands of branch members in her marginal NSW south coast seat of Gilmore, which would have also seen the 62-year-old replaced with a younger man." www.canberratimes.com.au/politics/federal/malcolm-turnbull-personally-intervenes-to-save-ann-sudmalis-from-preselection-defeat-20180523-p4zh1o.html

Sky News host Samantha Maiden has been stood down pending an internal investigation.
The TV presenter and former News Corp political editor was told to take leave late last week and has not been on-air since. It is understood Sky is investigating multiple workplace complaints made against the veteran journalist.
I wonder what she's done??

That's interesting Deb. I've never watched sky news, so I don't know who she is but working for them already seems like an offence.
I've only ever seen snippets from Andrew Bolt and Peter Credlin.

I don't likee her either Fig.. she seems . . just.. really dumb!I woder how some of those people ever got where they are She's seems to have got there simply because the last encumbent (her friend J Gash) recommended her/passed it onto her. J Gash moved on to be Mayor but I see she lost that spot in 2016, and is just a councillor now.
