Oh , but Dutton is such a lovely man, so lovely that he altered the visas because “I have decided that as a discretionary and humanitarian act to an individual with ongoing needs it is in the interests of Australia as a humane and generous society to grant this person a [visa].”

Visa granted "In the public interest".. ha.. there are foreigners frequently trying to get into Australia on an e-visa (not allowed to work here) who do intend to work here and if that is obvious to Border officers they get refused entry.
What's so special about those two?

Dutton tried a bit of deflection from the au pair/ e-visa saga, by claiming he does an excellent job because "he had cancelled the visas of more than 2800 drug dealers, sex offenders, organised criminals and national security threats."

So after all those lies and fake outrage, it turns out that it was Turnbull who personally signed off on the Vikki Campion jobs

It was someone from his office that signed off on it but his office said that all they did was forward an email. This government has to go.

it looks like they're trying to cause trouble between the NSW firefighters , as they've already done in Vic Sharri Markson Verified account SharriMarkson The incident logs showing how RFS knocked back two offers for assistance from Fire Rescue NSW for Reedy Swamp fire before putting out a "priority request" three hours later when it had escalated at Tathra. It makes me wonder. Do they usually give that much advance warning when they don't even know if they have the numbers?

It used to be a joke that Abbott could become PM and look at what happened. Dutton has been accumulating more and more power so becoming PM is probably next on his"to do" list.

Beetroot Barnaby should be happy that the cricket saga took the focus of him in the media. I don't think they'd topple Turnbull ...they'd be worse than Labor then

The more of this infighting I see, the more I admire Julia Gillard for the dignity with which she departed and has refrained from sniping or backbiting ever since.

Two men on Manus were attacked by locals yesterday. One was slightly injured but the other was severely injured after being stabbed 5 times with a knife and a screwdriver. IHMS [the supposed medical service provided by our government] refused to help because it was outside working hours. The same with security [provided by our government.]So, he was taken to the local hospital which is not equipped to provide much assistance to anyone, [ even though our government says otherwise] They stitched him up as best they could but could do nothing more so he was taken back to the prison camp where the other refugees cared for him while Doctors for Refugees and advocates did all they could via phone. The man was struggling to breathe and was in and out of consciousness. There appears to be conflicting reports as to whether he survived the night or not.
I am so fucking pissed off,[excuse language]. The bulk of our politicians have used asylum seekers/refugees as political footballs for far too long and stupid people agree with it. This cruel and tortuous experiment needs to end. All the refugees wanted was peace and safety and what have we done? Sent them to developing islands where they are treated worse than criminals. The men on Manus live in fear every moment of every day. Their fear is real and justified. At the moment, I loathe our government more than I thought was possible and I am so ashamed to be an Australian. We have the government we deserve but those seeking asylum here do not.
Oh, and Turnbull has lost the 30th consecutive Newspoll. As Scott Ludlum said in regards Abbott and Turnbull - "Congratulations. You're both crap" lol

PNG and surrounds have always been a place where people can be violently attacked. Not a place to resettle refugees :( Oh, and Turnbull has lost the 30th consecutive NewspollOh my.. Nero Wulf (CS) would have to go into permanent hiding if he/she was still around, over that..
