I have left over coriander chicken pilaf. I'm going to have it with brussel sprouts I love this meal and ex doesn't but he suffered last night. Great with lime squeezed over the top.

We have had two 'meals in a box' orders lately. Where you get the ingredients and use their recipe sheets with instructions to make the meals yourself.
From 2 different businesses. The first one - Hello Fresh, was free (code from daughter) 3 meals for 4 people and the second box (Marley Spoon) $53 discounted price, 4 meals for 2.
They were better than I thought they would be. Prefer Hello Fresh.
There's a lot of packaging all recyclable - soft plastic/cellophane (herb/spices sachets, mayonaise etc) but now it can't be recycled currently. Which is a put off.

We ended up getting Chinese takeaway because we couldn’t be bothered doing anything else.
We have recently cancelled our Hello Fresh order figlet. We just found their menus were getting very repetitive and boring. So now we’re back to having to decide for ourselves 😒

I have never tried any of those meal kit things, but the woman that was on the Marley Spoon cooking show in the afternoons, her voice would send me to sleep. I didn't really like the look of her meals either.

There's a pizza place near here (not a franchise) that does 2 pizzas for $30 on Tuesdays. Eat in or takeaway. Usually $30 each. Yummo. Haven't been there recently, price has probably gone up.

I’ve just taken fillet steak out of the freezer. Will have carrots and maybe mashed potato and I will make a boscaiola type sauce.

Yummo! I haven't bought filet for a while with the price through the roof. I like to use it to make stroganoff.
I had to google boscaiola. Yes please.

The steaks were tough, but the sauce was yum. I sautéed onion, bacon and mushroom, then add cooking cream, parsley, sprinkle in some salt and pepper. I added a splash of teriyaki as well.

Lol, I hate cooking, absolutely loathe it. I would much rather be outside slashing the grass, or drenching the sheep. I also suck at it. I didn’t have a mum to teach me, and somehow never needed to cook meals. I lived on fried eggs through highschool, toasted sandwiches through college, and someone how managed to bake a chook for my turn at cooking in the share house. Now I cook whatever I can find in a jar or packet.

My son has invited himself for dinner tonight, so I'm just going to do a lamb roast.
Easy peasy.

I used to use Porterhouse steak in straganoff. Now the supermarket meat is all vacuumed packed, I don't buy it. Butchers is too pricey.

I need to have a piece of steak weekly, but I don't. Although I do enjoy a piece
now and again. I make garlic/basil butter and slice a chunk and lie it on the steak as
it's cooking.

I stuffed some big mushrooms with cheese, spinach, bread crumbs and butter.
‘Twas really good. Plus it was made with leftover stuff on National Clean Out The Fridge Day. As if there is all that much to clean my refrigerator out.

little cafe here serves a specialty shrimp taco that has so many shrimp in it I need to eat three or four before I can put it in my mouth!
I get one of those, and a mahi-mahi taco.... both the shrimp and fish grilled to perfection...
beans and rice, nice place to sit. 5 bucks...lol
The wait staff don't even ask me anymore what I'll be having... always the same.
Why fiddle with perfection?
I make mahi-mahi ceviche once in a while... lots of veggies. And pineapple, mango, bananas...
good eats!!

How big are shrimp. I always think of shrimp as being those tiny things in a prawn cocktail that they used to serve at a chicken takeaway place.

Christmas dinner was wondering around my garden this morning. By the time I grabbed my phone to take a pic it was about to jump over the back. Is that a turkey?
