Whoa flashie! You guys have pulled up the drawbridge! Good move, imo. We got everything we needed this morning (arrived at 8am) except toilet paper..everything usually hard to find that was available would have been gone by 9am though. I did notice the checkout lady put one $17.95 item through twice, before we paid. Got that removed!

Whoa flashie! You guys have pulled up the drawbridge! Not sure how successful it is going to be though.
We have a lot of FIFO workers..........and there is no clarification on them.
Looks like I wont be going to visit my natural mother this year.
Even if I was allowed to visit her (she is in care) they wont let me back in Tassie unless I self quarantine for 14 days anyway.
I hope she understands.
My MIL is frightened by all this corona virus stuff............she is in her late 80's.
her brothers funeral was this week in another state and she was too scared to go.
Yesterday she was too frightened to nurse her new great grand daughter.

Oh..............does anyone know what the heck I can do with about a dozen over ripe bananas.
Thanks to panic buying I cant get any flour or sugar to make muffins with them.

I hate bananas and anything to do with them. I had bought some though in a fruit box for our visitors. I gave them to my neighbour yesterday because they were stinking up the house. I think she is going to make banana bread so she must have flour etc.
I just googled flourless banana bread and there are quite a few recipes.

No soap, bog roll, or spuds in woolies this morning. I got eggs, bacon, milk, and caramel mud cake pkt mix. What really excited me was new stock of matchbox 🚗 🚙 cars, woohoo, I bought 6. It’s all about priorities I went to the chemist to buy aloe gel, and organise for online scripts and the chemist lady asked me if I needed hand sanitizer. They got a new delivery in this morning. winning. So it was a pretty successful morning of foraging. Kay, I don’t know what the recipe for homemade sanitizer. Ones I have seen on the net suggest 1/3 alcohol : 2/3 gel. The virus has a lipid coating so the alcohol or metho breaks down the virus shell, as would soap. The carrier (aloe gel) would need to be water based so as to not react with the alcohol.

Thanks clarabelle. I actually found a little bottle of sanitizer tucked away in my “travel” drawer. I must have bought it when we were going overseas sometime.
I just had another shopping trip (to woollies this time) No loo rolls, soap or eggs, but I got pretty much everything else. Saw my neighbour, the manager. He looked very stressed poor bugger.

i expect the other aircraft factories to issue more layoffs soon, probably along the lines of another 10000 or so. which will lead to layoffs that won't make the news, likely another 20000 on top of the unmentioned easy 3000 servers, hostesses, bartenders already laid off. and that's just MY city, which isn't big.

Yikes! I just heard my sisters and their husbands are in self isolation in NZ after their trip over here for the wedding. I thought they had made it back in time but apparently not. Our UK visitors got home with no restrictions.

2 more cases in my Health Region, one travelled from Asia, and one from the US. I don’t believe self isolating at home, when there are other people in the home, works particularly well. My niece is about to take off from LAX. It will be a huge relief when she gets home.

Sin - really hard for those being laid off..not something anyone could have foreseen.
About time some toilet paper turned up (everywhere), they’re working overtime at the toilet paper factories in Aust..so hopefully we will see an improvement sometime soon.

my SIL finally got her test back on Wed.... and it was negative... somewhere along the way, someone lost her test results.
though our local Bunnings got a delivery of methylated spirits yesterday afternoon... it was all gone by last night.. we missed out.. so will have to go ahead with the floor sanding anyway.. still no meat at all at our local woolies... but at least I got 2 pkts of frozen chips ( no other frozen vegies available) and I got some emergency tinned cat food

Totally pissed off today as the dunny paper was all gone in Woolies again...Then I saw some dickwad with a cart full to the brim with hand sanitizers, baby wipes, soaps, everything that people need... @#&$* ME!, I thought, and did I give it to him. He looked like he was going to cry.... After I calmed down a little, I gave him the low down about the elderly and moms with kids, etc, who need these types of things. Told him he should be Fkn ashamed of himself and just take what he needs or I'd be looking for him outside in the carpark.. All he had to say back was, okay, sorry about everything, but I work here, can I get back filling the shelves now?”...

thanks Maggie.. will put that to him.... he's been searching Mitre 10 as well
this morning , America has moved to 6th on the list with over 19,000 cases reported
Rex Patrick @senator_Patrick · 1h 877 confirmed #coronavirus cases in Australia this morning. On 1 March there were only 21. A week ago it was 197. Three days ago it was 414. Our trend is closer to Italy or UK than Singapore. Australian Govts need to put social distancing breaks on much harder, right now #auspol

What's with that cruise ship that arrived and the passengers just left the ship
and headed home without being tested? Do they honestly believe every one of
those passengers will self isolate for 14 days? My guess would be if they have
been away for an extended time their supplies would be non existent at home.

My niece arrived home from the US on Friday morn. Her housemate stocked the flat with supplies and GF food and then made arrangements to stay elsewhere for the next two weeks. I thought that was good of her, she could have changed the locks while MissT was away instead. Niece has arranged to work from home for isolation period.
These idiots from the city raiding the small regional towns by the bus load, are increasing the risk of spread and putting small communities with little medical support at risk.
Woolies is offering priority support and home delivery to the vulnerable. Hubby fits the category, but we are too far away to get delivery, and pickup is no longer an option.
