10 News First Perth 7h · A tiny kitten is recovering after she was discovered in a bin with fireworks strapped to her body in Brisbane. RSPCA officers found the kitten discarded in a wheelie bin on Monday, with duct tape wrapped around its neck, legs and torso. She was taken to the vet, and when the tape was removed, veterinarian staff discovered remnants of firecrackers and burn injuries to the kitten's neck and mouth. Police and RSPCA officers raided a home on July 29, where a large number of fireworks and crackers were located, along with drugs and an antique firearm. A mobile device was also seized which contained a video of a person lighting firecrackers which were taped to the kitten. Investigations are ongoing. |

i understand why in NZ the families need to make victim impact statements, but i think the perpetrator would have revelled in them

I agree Maggie. He would love hearing of their hurt and trauma, it means he achieved his goals. I admire the ones who are showing their anger at him and telling him he hasn’t beaten them and he hasn’t won.
Also the mother (?) who told him she forgave him - I’m not sure I would have that purity of heart

What he deserves, nothing less.
In a NZ article I read.. they said 'he' was paying attention to what the victims or victim statements read by others, vidoes etc were saying... and would even nod at the comments some times.
One victims suggested 'he' read the Koran if he has any spare time and added... I think you will have (plenty of spare time). "He' gave a chuckle to that.
How he could sit there and just listen to the statements and have the same blank look on his face most of the time, I don't know.

I've just been watching that on ABC News. He'll be 88 before he is even eligible to apply for parole so I think there's a very good chance he'll die in gaol.. I just hope they eventually find enough evidence to convict him of Sarah Spears' murder too. It must be so hard for her family not even being able to lay her to rest.

If the foster mother gets charged for the below she wont be allowed to foster children? (they have two - William's sister and a younger girl).
"The foster mother is separately facing two counts of common assault (on eldest foster child) and earlier this year failed to have the charges dealt with on mental health ground"

i read that there was only one sister, she has been accused of kicking her, hitting her with a wooden spoon, there is audio of these assaults, that child was removed a while ago
