he's tweeting from New York. where he's just bought a 3 story penthouse apartment for Hillsong I'm trying to understand why the army hasn't been called in to assist the firefighters... I think I'm getting it now

She looked kind of shocked didn't she Deb. How dare a reporter actually expect an answer to his question.

the reporter said somewhere that he's an ex liberal staffer with plenty of media experience and it sounds like we're going to be hearing a lot more from him in 2020 with what he calls "focus news" here is their twitter account twitter.com/FocusNewsNow

if my kids were strip searched , I'd be absolutely furious
during that presser, I thought it quite funny that all the other journos were dead silent... also when she said ""I don't know who you are"" that suggests a bit of collusion on the part of the media owners in this country

This is an interesting piece by Jenna Price: “The incredible, telling difference between Ardern and MorrisonIn some respects, Prime Minister Scott Morrison and New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern are very similar. They were both elected to their positions as leaders of their respective parties not too long before general elections. Their elevations to these positions came after failures of their predecessors to win popularity, either among colleagues or with the electorate. Or both. They each won victories with slim margins. They grew up as Christians. They are both white. Physically, they are pretty regular folks. Not too big, not too little. The main similarity is that both are prime ministers of countries that have experienced terrible tragedies and hardship in the last 12 months. That’s all I’ve got. And it is in that one similarity – the tragedies and hardship – where we see their greatest and most profound differences. It makes what they have in common utterly irrelevant. Just the last few days in each of our countries says it all.” www.smh.com.au/national/the-incredible-telling-difference-between-ardern-and-morrison-20191212-p53jd8.html

“There is one other major difference between Ardern and Morrison. Ardern campaigned with relentless positivity and a raft of policies. Morrison used fear and uncertainty and a scrappy handful of ideas around destroying unions; perceived threats to religious freedom; and borders secure from a handful of asylum seekers held in offshore detention. .......
There can be no more telling difference between our leaders than this. Ardern is a natural when it comes to showing that she and her government care. The Coalition, led by Morrison, had to hire empathy consultants to help them with "getting the tone of voice right and getting the narrative right" around the drought.
For this government, everything is a transaction. When everything is about making a deal, nothing is about considering the hopes and fears, the concerns and the horror, of a nation burning.“

Yep, that's all they do.
e.g "Stop the Boats" slogan. People that vote for themm (like icy, LD ) had no idea at all about any policies the LNP had.

The absurdity of the Tories getting in on the “get brexit done” ticket while at the same time the brexit party getting NO seats blows my mind! Does anybody bother having a little think before they cast their vote?

Interesting. No talk about the sweeping victory of Boris Johnson and the rightwing surge in England? Or is it in another thread somewhere?
