www.skynews.com.au/details/_6051364599001Plastic bag bans are weakening the economy 24/06/2019|1min The Treasury has been warned that plastic bag bans are contributing to a weaker economy, reportedly prompting shoppers to consume less and delay purchases because they're unable to carry groceries. I don't think it's lack of plastic bags that's weaking the economy... it's more like stagnant wages, penalty rate cuts and poor Govt. economic management

Really? Did he say that with a straight face? Just because he doesn’t have the organisational skills to remember his shopping bags 😂

unfortunately they are serious in thinking that we'll buy that story as a reason for the economy being in the doldrums

Stupidest comment..about the bags.
So..you don't go to supermarket to buy food for dinner because you don't have any bags on you to carry it home?

interest rate 1%.........as someone who had a mortgage when it was 18%, unbelievable.....but it demonstrates that the economy is in trouble

I've just been having a little chat to one of their *pastors* on twitter... I've asked if his church does any charitable work in the community as I know they rake in about $80 million yearly
still waiting for his response

"Yeah for sure - we have multiple programs and means which help. For our local community we engage in CAP which gives education for people strangled by debt"
that was his reponse to me asking if they do charitable work in the community
I wonder if "local community" means " for members"
I've just asked him that LOL

I found out what * if you have a go, you get a go". means
It means *you reap what you sow*.. this is apparently what Hillsongers believe and explains their lack of empathy for others

Why isn’t our government doing something about this? It wouldn’t be because they are Muslim would it? What about freedom of religion for this little boy and his family and friends? www.abc.net.au/news/2019-07-14/chinas-crackdown-on-uyghurs-tearing-families-apart/11221614This is Lutfy. He is an Australian citizen but he and his mother, Nadila, have been trapped in China's Xinjiang province and banned from leaving ever since he was born. Lutfy's father Sadam lives in Australia. He has never met his son and he hasn't seen his wife for two years. He's desperate for the Chinese government to let them leave Xinjiang and join him. Sadam and his family are Uyghurs, a Muslim ethnic minority who have been rounded up, detained and forcibly indoctrinated by the Chinese government. It's estimated more than 1 million Uyghurs are being held in detention and re-education camps, with a UN committee saying the region resembles a "massive internment camp". It appears to be the largest imprisonment of people on the basis of religion since the Holocaust.
Watch the investigation, Tell the World, on Four Corners, Monday at 8.30pm on ABC TV, iview and YouTube.

there's some bad stuff going on in the world Kay... my daughter told me about this a couple of months ago... I hadn't even heard about it meanwhile here in Aust, the rorting Govt keeps rorting www.couriermail.com.au/news/queensland/barnaby-joyce-fires-up-over-malicious-and-false-attack-on-love-nest-rent/news-story/2faef7ef1c67d31af5370463c5325417?utm_source=CourierMail&utm_medium=Twitter&utm_campaign=EditorialSF&utm_content=SocialFlow&__twitter_impression=trueCONTROVERSIAL Federal MP Barnaby Joyce has been using a bank account set up to manage his electorate allowance to pay the rent for his Armidale home. A furious Mr Joyce slammed what he called a “malicious and false” attack on his integrity and defended the use of the account, saying it was for “multiple purposes” and received deposits from a range of sources, including sheep sales on his family farm. Just days after Mr Joyce staunchly defended the use of politicians’ electorate allowances, The Sunday Mail can reveal the former deputy prime minister has this year made regular deposits of more than $400 a week into the account of a real estate agent in Armidale, where he now lives with new partner Vikki Campion and their two infant children. Federal politicians receive up to $46,000 a year in electorate allowances, designed to help them engage with their constituents, but under parliamentary guidelines they are allowed to retain any unspent funds. Former Senator Derryn Hinch has called for an end to the “rorting’’ of electorate expenses while the Australian Taxpayers’ Alliance wants politicians to come clean on all their allowance expenses. While the loophole has attracted community anger, Mr Joyce defended the payments, saying he worked hard for his money and would earn more working as an accountant. The Sunday Mail understands Mr Joyce has this year made regular deposits of $415 a week to First National Real Estate Armidale from a bank account which receives almost $4000 a month in electoral allowance payments. Under parliamentary guidelines, Mr Joyce is eligible for the maximum $46,000 in annual electorate allowances due to the large area of his New England seat.
