Parliament should be forced to sit tomorrow instead having to wait until September 10th. They need to have their pay docked for poor performance.

🎩 sounds defeated in this presser. Sounds to my like he thinks his only hope is section 44

I hope he's right Kay. I can't stomach the thought of Dutton as PM.

Knowing what Dutton is capable of makes me dread what he could do as PM. I hope that he is found to be ineligble. That would bring me great happiness.

www.abc.net.au/news/2018-08-23/annabel-crabb-liberal-spill-s44-malcolm-turnbull-delay-tactics/10157030First, he's requiring that the fabled petition bearing 43 names of individuals seeking a leadership spill be directed to him personally. This is the epistolatory equivalent of looking them all in the eye. Second, he's setting as a requirement the assurance that Peter Dutton first be cleared of suspicion under section 44 of the constitution. Dutton's family trust could make him ineligible It's possible Peter Dutton is in breach of the constitution because of a family trust — and if the High Court were to find him so, it would cause yet another headache for the Government, writes Anne Twomey. Now, of course, practically everyone's been under suspicion of a s44 code violation at some point or other. And Mr Turnbull's close interest in Mr Dutton's status is — it's fair to say — a recent phenomenon. But it gives him a lifeline. Buys him some time, and a ticket in the lottery that seeking legal advice from the Solicitor-General usually proves so gloriously to be. Malcolm Turnbull's been lucky before, and if Stephen Donoghue comes back tomorrow morning with a furrowed brow, then that would be another delay, giving the PM even more time to manoeuvre, and bringing — in all probability — a rich new crop of opinion polling to throw the Liberal party room into a fresh attack of the vapours. This is classic, back-to-the-wall Malcolm Turnbull. Looking for legal loopholes, looking for delaying tactics, and never giving in. On the Sunday before the leadership spill that dislodged him in 2009, Mr Turnbull gave an impassioned interview to Laurie Oakes warning that if his conservative oppressors tipped him out, the Liberals would end up "as a fringe party of the far right". This time, the explosives are of a more practical order. Mr Turnbull announced today that if a spill motion was raised against him, he would not be a candidate, and would resign from his seat immediately. Leaving Peter Dutton, presumably, to minority government and the tender mercies of the Wentworth electorate. Now there's a biblical revenge.

'Mr Dutton, the New Yorker, not the Texan or Queenslander, started getting abusive tweets several years ago, but wasn’t sure why. “Depends on the week. Some weeks none. Some days dozens. I never know when a storm is going to hit,” Mr Dutton told news.com.au in 2016.'
LOL. It's because dead eye is an asshole.

Some random vox pox interviewee just said she thinks Julie Bishop dresses very nicely. WTF? No wonder the country is in such a mess if that’s how people make choices about who they vote for.
