This time in America will be noted as a time we lost our collective minds. It will also be a time of great shame. Because this is truly shameful.
And let me not forget the cons in this country who have gone completely fact, evidence and truth free. They lie with abandon now. Totally and completely untethered from the truth.

Interesting. No talk about the sweeping victory of Boris Johnson and the rightwing surge in England? Or is it in another thread somewhere?

Seems a done deal he will be impeached by the House. The Senate is charged with trial and conviction and that's starting to crack against Traitor. Perhaps a dozen that aren't a part of his cult can convict him and that's all folks. Then Detroit better worry because this idiot will order a bomb strike on a US city. This will not end well here.

What an abolute and utter shitshow we've got now. By a human abomination and his administration.

Not sure what's meant by "it won't work". An impeachment is an impeachment. It'll go down in history as right and proper morally and constitutionally.

Misery loves company and i will admit to looking on with some satisfaction at what appeared to be the Brits following us down to crazy town. But it looks like Boris is getting smacked around pretty good. Damn it. Can it be the Brit system is better than ours?

So since we're opening up our elections to foreign participation we can draw sides. Russia for Pubs, China for Dems, not sure which side the Aussies will take. But we can split up the world to see which countries back which candidates and which Parties.

Man is this guy just an embarrassment. I cringe to see him on foreign soil showing the world just how much of an total moron he is. They must wonder what in the hell has happened to America and if we've lost our minds.

Just rewatched. Slept through a bit of the middle. The end was interesting I guess. Telling us the three of them got their final heart's desire in the end.

I have one friend who has watched GoT but she hasn't watched any of season 8 yet so we aren't talking about it yet, we will in time when she gets around to watching it. I just read that they reckon Bran Stark will be the new King after Jon kills Daenerys and he refuses the throne and goes back north, that would be funny but maybe that is the bittersweet who knows, maybe they'll split them back up into seven kingdoms and there will be no Iron Throne. Whichever way it ends will still enjoy it. I gotta say you nailed that one. Pretty much all of it. Jon killing his love and Bran. I was skeptical of the former, entirely skeptical of the latter. Until I saw them all sitting there, including Bran, and Tyrion came up with his "democratic" approach. Then I'm sitting there and saying damn if you weren't right. Not sure how you plucked that random plot twist, but gotta say that it makes a lot of sense after it's done. If he can climb down from the clowds in his head he might be ok. And I've heard it said that they never put anything in the plot for no reason, which accounts for him being carted around everywhere even when it was clear he was doing absolutely nothing but star gazing for the entire season. And he said something like "Why do you think I came?" or something like that. Him being able to "see" things, will serve him in good stead as king. Kinda mostly watched last nite, will rewatch maybe tonite. My thoughts are they rushed and patched this last season together and last nite was no exception. Would've been good to've had a forward flash after a few years to see how things went, but it was what it was. By that time he perhaps would have spoken a whole 25 words or so. He put the brev in brevity, to say the least.
Think I've heard of some kind of a spin off of the story that might revisit the characters. Or might not. Guess we'll see. The current writers are moving on to other projects so it perhaps won't be as good writing. Not that there weren't problems with the plots and stories in the original.
***actually remember him saying though that he had no interest in being Lord of Winterfell. Either that's another glaring hole or some misdirection in that he had his mind's eye set on something bigger. As it turns out it was bigger.
***And actually again after thinking about it Bran wasn't as bad as I made him out to be. He was into matters. He was sitting up front in most of the major councils of this season. Despite him having the "don't care about anything" demeanor. He could have been perfectly happy in his bedroom dreaming of everything and having his meals delivered to him but he was in on the councils. Didn't have much to say though, but again they kind of showed us the end play while also misdirecting.

Bran is neither desirous or suited for the throne. He is a lump of protoplasm. I swear I have never understood his part. He hasn't done a damn thing since forever. The only power he apparently has rests in the universe of his head and nowhere else. Even during the Long Nite battle he flew ravens to see where the NK was.....apparently just to see where the NK was. It did nothing. He exists on a higher, or lower, plane of existence. Mere kingships mean nothing to him. Could you imagine him sitting and giving counsel at the High Council? He'd talk in enough riddles that everyone else would leave confused as hell and nothing would ever get done. That twist simply would make no sense.

Didn't like it. Looks like it's chick flick time for the duration, which is one final episode. Too much sappy romantic and emotional angst and not enough battle and fighting and political intrigue. The battle for KL was way too short and one-sided. As was the Long Night. Too much character interplay and lovey dovey bullshit eating up too much time.
Not sure what the heroine of Winterfell was doing running around KL like a little lost puppy. That made no sense to me at all. The taking of KL was just too damn easy. Did the Golden Company even draw swords? I must've missed it if they did.
Not satisfactory and I would guess the final episode will be even worse. More time for sappy emotional soap-opera type angst.

Did they stabilize your meds yet? LOL- a person who questions another's need for meds, might want to talk to their therapist about stabilizing their own meds. Ya fheggin know-it-all douchebag. No THAT guy needs med maintenance for real.

Its generally a great show. And I have read all the books except the last installment which the fat ass author might never finish. lazy fuck. From what I can remember the books didn't have all the goddamn romance and emotional angst the tv shows do. But they do it for the female audience I guess. That's the chick flick shit I hate. +

I hate the chick flick parts of the show. I mean really hate. The emotional treacle and romantic angst gets kinda thick. Missandei and Greyworm was perhaps the worst of it all. Every damn time they were on the screen together my blood sugar exploded it was so goddamn sappy and sticky. It might sound perverse but I cheered when Missandei bought it.
But this story is not above the cheap trick of reviving the dead.

Drumpf is a corrupter. He tests the corruptibility of everyone around him and they either accept or decline the offer. Most accept. For some reason Barr signed on for this. There's something inexplicable going on that perhaps can best be described as a cult of personality taking over to a frightening extent.

Man o man are we really and truly fucked here. We have a president who is clearly shameless, absolutely unscrupulous, kinda crazy and a traitor, and an Attorney General who appears to be the same who is behind him. This is so so bad.

It's fantasy fiction so there is some level of disbelief that has to be suspended. But then some stuff should still make some level of sense.

Well there're levels and more levels to this shit. I think I read something since about the NK being not really vulnerable to VS EXCEPT in the spot where those ancient ones buried the dragon stone that made him - his gut. I actually remember that and can actually buy into it. So that would explain why should couldn't just throw or shoot something at him. To be sure it had to be guided in close into his guy. I can actually dig it. BUT he still should not have exposed himself like that.
So but that still leaves the terrible battle strategy they employed. And who the hell was the overall commander? You need an overall commander. It wasn't Jon, he was in the fight fighting for his life for most of it. Ditto Dany.
I still say it should've been fire fire and more fire. With fire on top. Every person should have had two fire weapons. They should have threw away their cold steel weapons. They were no good against the wights. I guess I've got a limit to just how far I'm willing to suspend belief.

That insulted my intelligence. It's wrapping up and it's showing. You cannot hack the AOTD. It's futile. How can you beat by arm strength an army that reanimates and even grows from your own dead? That was simply never giong to work. Never ever never.
Fire. Fire was always the key. Jon knew that. Hell he demonstrated it for everybody in the old dragon pits. Fire fire and more fire. Each person should've had fire pots in both hands, kicking a fire pot and dragging a fire trough behind them and a cigarette lighter in their pockets just in case. Fire fire fire was their only chance.
Now they had a little fire, but as I've been saying that should've had a LOT of fire. Their little flaming anti-calvary spikes (yes that was anti-calvary against the AOTD) were doomed. The dead have all eternity. They could have just waited for it to be exhausted. Instead what they did do was put it out with their bodies. Point being it was doomed. Fire fire fire and more fire was the key.
And Ayra leaping out of nowhere was another insult. Sure she's a baddass assassin killer but to get close enough to leap on the NK? And for that matter why leap? She's a markman with thrown or shot projectiles. She demonstrated that for Gendry, showing off. And why did the NK expose himself like that anyway? He's thousands of years old but that stupid? He knows, or should know, his unstoppable force is ONLY stoppable one way. His death. He's walking down the middle of battlefields out in the open, walking around dark places looking for Bran. Those are the big things, there're dozens of others but those large matters left me feeling insulted. I can suspend belief, you have to to be able to watch and enjoy the show, but I can only go so far before I demand things make real-world sense.

There is a grassroots org Indivisible that appears wonderful. I'm think of joining up with them. Except not sure what can be done in Massachusetts. We're so blue here we're damn near ultra-violet. It's like spitting in the wind. Fruitless. If it were a battleground state it'd be easy. So actually not really sure what to do or how to volunteer. I guess I can start with Indivisible but I'm not overly fond of just wasting my time.

And as I said it should be no great surprise. The surprise for me was if they hadn't breached an election system or two. There's no way they shied away from it. So the only thing stopping them was effort and ability. And Drumpf is basically holding the nations legs open for Russia to continue raping us now and coming up. Him and others. Including and especially Fla. I'm not a liberal more a socialist .. to beat them the two have to find a way to get along and beat the common enemy and worry about who gets the upper hand policy -wise later . an internal party brawl is a lot better than another term surely . I agree with that wholeheartedly. Dems need to come together. Run your races and hopefully the best person bubbles to the top. IMO that's Biden. Drumpf seems to think so also. But your own personal ambition must be subsumed in the efforts to get rid of this goddamn abomination we have right now. All the oars need to be dipping together. And I mean together. Don't get all butt hurt if your candidate didn't get the nom. We need to come together to get rid of Drumpf. He is a real danger to our democracy.

Thats the type of shit you'll never have to worry about with me. All the personal extra-forum shit that verges on harassment. I've spent about 3 decades in forums never giving up any personal information about myself. I don't care about your life or your travails or your personal shit. I like to argue politics, events and issues. I really don't care to know anybody personally and don't care to divulge anything about myself personally. I'm Dave from Boston and that's about it.
