Do you see the resemblance to Dermot Mulroney?
That's why I ever had the crush 6 or so years ago.
I sure know how to pick them!!

When I met him years ago he was actually handsome.
Anger, hostility and paranoia have done a number on him. At least he's still tall. 😄

At this one gas station- they dubbed him The Coffee Nazi. My friends and I call him Socks (formerly burrito).
Originally it was burrito because he would walk into Walmart and head straight to the deli... and start eating a burrito out of the package (without cooking it first!). But burrito became too obvious... so he became Black Socks- also too obvious. So then he became Socks.
At the gas station he worked himself up over the coffee all the time. Earning his nickname. I asked him why he always bought two cups, which he would drink on the premises. Why not a refill and save money and not waste cups? He said that after he finished the first cup, he didn't want to be exposed to the germs from a used cup. 😐

I had so much fun discussing the murderer today.
A lot of people said "that's karma", but it's not. Karma would have been if he had been murdered.
It was Irony.
And I loved it- and the gossip, too, I admit. Everyone had stories to tell about his crazy.
Once, he yelled at a dog and threatened to sue the owner for the unwarranted barking. Once, he backed into a well marked pole at the chicken store and threatened to sue them for putting a pole in the parking lot. Once, he walked up to a man and threatened to sue him for stealing a million dollars from him.
I do feel bad for the 64 year old man who had the misfortune to have him as a neighbor. The unofficial story is that there was a property dispute that landed in court and he lost the claim. The neighbor was mowing his lawn when Psycho walked up and shot him in the torso. Psycho walked away, but realized neighbor wasn't actually dead... so he walked back and shot him in the face.
Politically ~ I guess it's good only one man is dead. This crazy mofo had guns legally. (Side note: he once asked me how many guns I had and could he come over and shoot them... I felt weird by his question and lied about my gun ownership at the time)
Everyone in town knew this guy was crazy. I talked to the police once about him- but he committed no crime by leaving a psycho voicemail message.

hhhmmmm yet there is no need for tighter gun laws, according to some? Why weren’t alarm bells rung and his ‘right’ to keep guns revoked?

without a conviction and a diagnosis on record, he got to keep his guns, kay. that's how it works here unfortunately.

Chances are he'll just end up in a psyche ward instead of prison. I hope his case is marked 'no release'.

The murderer is out on bail. $1500 to get out. That's a little over 2k in Australia.
It's not a debate if he killed his neighbor or not. But they still have to have a trial and show the proof because even guilty people usually plead innocent. Everyone deserves a fair trial and I get that. What I don't get is that there was a bond available in the first place.
So he goes to Walmart and the chicken store on his first day out. Shopping like life is perfectly normal. I start getting texts from my friends telling me he is out. Be careful.
I worry more he'll go into a store and take numerous people out. He has nothing left to lose.
He will get a trial, he will be convicted. So why should he care what happens in the weeks, possibly months, before his trial begins?
All this American fairness and freedom isn't always that great. I bet the victim's family is reeling that he's out and at home. Not even an ankle monitor... jeeze.
I'm keeping an eye out, but I think I'm probably at the bottom of his grievance/kill list.

I can't believe he's out! For a murder like that bail should not have been on the table.

I know, right?
Everyone in this town is stunned. My advice was to be nice to him if you have to interact with him.
Some people said "there's no way he could get another gun".
Really? I don't believe that. From experience buying/selling my guns- I don't believe that. If he could round up 1500 for bail, he can figure out a way to buy a gun.

I don't know when the trial begins.
Holly Bobo's trial didn't start for two years, but the killers were not out on bail.
