I asked my 35 year old friend why their 24 year old friend quit their job after only two weeks. (I had met her/the 24 year old at the gas station just a few times but she seemed nice and like a hard worker).
35 year old says to me,
“You know how kids are these days. They don’t want to work”.

File this under casual conversation with the younger generation....
I’ve noticed twice now, that a service worker has asked me about my marital status.
The first one was the tire store young man.
The second was the TV repair young man.
My casual conversation is
Sure has rained a lot (Or I wonder if it will ever rain?)
Or
Gas prices seem to be going down
Or
Egg prices are through the roof!
Etc.
How is “So are you married” part of ordinary casual convo?
Why not ask me how old I am? Or how much I weigh?
It just seems odd to me.
It’s not their business.
I should have said I was married but then I killed him and put him in the backyard.

My reply was that I used to make it my hobby but then I lost interest. Just wasn’t really good at it.

A customer sent me a check for $40, as a tip.
I forgot about it until today. The check was still inside of my glove box.
I forwarded it with $10 more to Maui Humane Society.
My former employer agreed to match the donation.
Approximately 3000 pets are lost or displaced right now.

I hope they find the pets and reunite them with their owners. I have a good friend, who has friends in Maui who lost everything, including the elderly father of one of them. A Go Fund me page was started two days ago, with a goal of $10,000. They hits that goal last night and are still going strong. I can't imagine losing everything in a fire. It's so sad. |

Whatever...........I was and still am a dog lover, but because of my situation and a fair amount of travel, I only have cats now. Cats are also awesome. Some are even as devoted as dogs. My two are.
