Looks like the end of an era.
All of the royal family, including Harry and Meghan are on their way to Balmoral.

That is sad. I’m certainly not a royalist, but the passing of anyones mother, grandmother and great grandmother is always hard.
It is the end of an era and I think that Charles will be the last “Crown” Australia will have. The push for a republic will be on now.

She was a real lady. Loved how her dress and hat always matched.

Very sad news today on the passing of the Queen... apparently our Parliament has to swear allegience to King Charles 111 before they can continue.

She was a real lady. Loved how her dress and hat always matched. Apparently the colour blocking and the bright colours were a security measure. Because she was so tiny it was a way for security to always be able to identify her.

It’s hard to imagine a world without her. She’s just always been there. I have long held respect and admiration for her. Very sad 😞
It will be hard getting used to Chazza’s big ears on our currency

Yes, it will look 'wrong' after that many decades with QEII on them.

I woke up just before 2a.m. turned the tablet on and as usual went to the ABC. I was reading the news flashes
throughout the hours following. She had a good innings and will be sadly missed.

I wondered if she had a stroke. It all happened so quickly after meeting with the new PM.

Yes, that was true. I think King Charles! was visiting her daily. Anne must have been there earlier too. The rest never made it in time.

I wondered if she had a stroke. It all happened so quickly after meeting with the new PM. She did look more frail in that photo (and with bruise coloured hands) taken with the new PM..compared to photos of her at the Jubilee Celebration time.

A (real life) friends husband passed away overnight on Thursday. She is struggling with the saturation coverage of grief for QEII. She wants people to acknowledge his death too. She realises that’s irrational, but still ……

I so agree. I saw footage of Harry, Wills, Kate and Meghan looking at the gifts and flowers left for the queen's passing and the comments were just pure crap about how she looked so fake and didn't like to be near William and used Harry for protection. If she goes off the rails in a non royal like way then who could blame her.

She realises that’s irrational, but still …… I see that I hit the wrong response to this post .....nothing funny about it.. It is very sad that one's personal loss and grief of the passing of a loved one is over shadowed by celebrity. And yes I think that the Queen did as much as possible to fulfill her duty....good, bad, ugly....she was after all a human being.

The Queue!!!! This is staggering! It is 2:30am in London and it is still 2.8 miles (4.5km) long! I’ve had a peek at BBC Red Button live coverage of them all streaming past the coffin. It’s is quite a spectacle. I’ve said before I’m no royalist, but this is all really quite amazing

A comment a young woman made was something like this "the Queen worked until she was 96 yrs, so I don't think me waiting hours in a queue is a big deal."
The wait can be 8 hours or more. The people queuing get given bracelets with a number. so I guess if they need toilet breaks they can leave and come back into right place in queue.

I note with a smirk. Kate and William are now appearing to be more together. With Kate giving
William a pat and rub on the back. I wonder if Kate will be accused of being insecure and
clingy. lol

It was Harry's birthday yesterday. How dare he have his birthday on such an important occasion.
Trying to upstage the queen, no less.
