I have a 16 inch (40.64 centimeters) Black and Decker electric hedge trimmer.
Today, it died.
I bought it in 1995 (I do not know how to convert that into Aussie years). So I don’t have the receipt or paperwork anymore to return it for being defective.
Did I do something wrong? Was I supposed to oil it and I didn’t know it? Was I responsible for its failure to perform? I need to know in case I have to sue to get my money back.
Or —- do you think it’s a lost cause and I should buy a new one? Or do you think I should invest in repairing it?

Dawn hoping the store you bought it from will stand behind the products they sell and will replace it with a new one. Imagine they would want to keep their reputation in good standing...after all it didn't even last 30 years...

I converted to AU years and the trimmer is 99 . Most of the graduating class of 95 are no longer working according to B@D .. In Australia that means pulling the hedges out (same as Ireland) In other places people tend to buy another.

If you decide to buy a new one, gift the as new trimmer to your very best friend, or maybe even
sell it on ebay to help buy the new one.
