It seems the SNP is pushing hard for holding a 2nd Scot IndyRef. The latest polling from ComRes was 50/50 Y/N. It was pledged as a 'once in a generation opportunity' and I guess by 2024 it will have been a 'generation' thereabouts. Good lord, SF as the majority party in the NI assembly, Scot IndyRef on the cards and SNP set to storm Holyrood & Westminster in the next sets of elections. We were warned Brexit would also mean the breakup of the union and it looks like it's going that way. It doesn't bother me much, as Scotland has been robbed for a long time, but it would be nice to see more representation for England in an English parliament I guess.
There's no way that Norn Iron 'belongs' to "us" in 2022 though.

We were in Scotland at the time of the independence referendum. Interestingly, the further north we travelled the less support there was for breaking away. It seemed that people didn’t feel there would be much difference in their lives whether they were governed from London or Edinburgh.

It seemed that people didn’t feel there would be much difference in their lives whether they were governed from London or Edinburgh. They voted interestingly in EU and Brexit referendums too in the far north actually, according to this map.
The biggest support for the No vote in Scot IndyRef was in the Borders region according to this map.
EU refs compared (1975 was re continued membership of the Euro Economic Community; of course 2016 was leaving the EU - greener = more EU support):
This may explain the results for Scot IndyRef better (Tory support and its correlation): Scot IndyRef (support for staying in the union in Orkney and Borders regions)

It's quite imperialist really, we shouldn't even have a say on what goes on over there. But there you go.
They failed anyway..

Wow :( This country makes me sad. We just have a government that doesn't respect human rights or the Rule of Law, either international or domestic, nor do they respect established ethical standards or frameworks, precedent, anything
They really do act like entitled Etonian snobs which is ironic because most of them aren't. It's horrible. It's the equivalent of Boris Johnson burning a £50 note in front of a homeless man as was the custom of Etonians in the 'Bullingdon Club' going out drinking, when in their late teens. They are truly awful people at times - yes not all upper-class people (or Etonians) are like that, but so many that enter politics and high positions in society are sadly like that.

It was like the perfect storm to have the three of them, Trump, Johnson and Morrison, in power at the same time. And again, the common denominator if Murdoch. Oh well, 2 down 1 to go
and the last one has done them a favor and resigned.

He's staying as caretaker PM. He's quite devious. He says he will stay in place until they find a new leader and goodness knows how long that will take?
You have to watch every nook, cranny and detail to see the final outturn of these things, as you just never know with these slippery streaks of pish.

who do you think will get the job 777? I'm thinking that maybe Liz Truss is the best of a bad bunch.. some of them are just downright creepy I'd vote for Hugh though

the lineup of replacements is full of loons with nasty ideas , real progress is still a long way away . does abbott still have an advisory role ? seems the british navy is sick of the pointless channel BS .. Who came up with that idea i wonder

The best would probably be Tom Tugenhadt, but even he's a bad pick who wants immunity for troops involved in the Troubles, he's also terrible at public comms.
He won't do well.
