They got fined a total of 20 grand, that’s just one litter of pups, it would be nothing to them, then to leave 80 bitches and 25 dogs with them to breed in atrocious conditions, bleep me, what a freakin joke.

Plus this, Clara? "In addition to the reduction in the size of the establishment, the defendants were ordered to pay animal care costs of $150,000.00 to RSPCA NSW."(near the end of your link) Monetary fines won't make them better dog breeders or make them care properly for dogs in their care.

Yeah, plus that Fig, but if they sold the 250 puppies at 2 grand each, there’s half a million bucks, so 150grand isn’t a huge amount either.
They let a dog die, they shouldn’t be allowed to own a dog after that. The new rules for selling dogs and cats was supposed to stop puppy mills and indiscriminate breeding, but it hasn’t. You just have to register with one of the half a dozen Breeding associations that popped up to fulfil the need, and you can breed and sell whatever you like. It doesn’t seem like the associations do any checks on their members, or govern the amount of litters they produce. The trend of crossing a poodle with anything than charging a minimum of 2 grand for the designer dog annoys me. The popular ones at the moment are border collie cross poodles. That’s just asking for trouble, producing pups with anxiety issues. The one that that really had me shaking my head recently was red heeler cross poodle and basset hound cross poodle. To be fair, the bassetoodles are cute.

This makes me sick and angry!!! Why are these worthless excuses for human beings still be in business receive a slap on their wrists and allowed to continue to abuse animals? Imho...they should be placed in a concrete cage and receive the same treatment given to their innocent victims.
Animal and child abusers make my blood boil.😡

NSW nationals don't want stricter rules in respect of ethical treatment of animals .. so they made sure none got through . it's that simple .

Our RSPCA has come in for a lot of criticism too.One of the most disturbing things I read from over there was the large scale feral cat culls, I know they are responsible for killing a lot of native wildlife, but still the idea of mass cat culls makes me sad. :( (Which I know is completely off-topic but there you are..)

I mean, there's an island in Japan inhabited with thousands of cats..
Maybe they can adapt some island in the middle of nowhere to be cat island, or create a few artificial islands.
And yes I am serious. Or at least I think I am..

it wouldn't work here what is needed is for pet owners to be responsible and neuter their pets and keep them contained so they don't turn feral.
i have seen programs where the ferals are being trapped, sterilized and released

I did that to my neighbours tom cat. Trapped it, took it to the vet, got it desexed. Best 80 bucks I ever spent. It was a nice cat but they locked it outside when it started spraying inside, so it came to my house, peeing and yowling and upsetting my cat. My cousin was walking through my paddock a few days ago and startled a bunch of kittens in the long grass. They are wild but the mother cat was probably a dumped pet. Driving around of a night we always see feral cats slinking off in to the grass. Pepe was that here? I know some towns in America do that with strays.
