I don’t know anyone who lives around Epic/Northside anymore. They must be sick to death of them

This is NOT funny Canberra rallies around King O'Malley's after unmasked anti-vaccination mandate protesters target pub with negative reviewswww.canberratimes.com.au/story/7608735/support-pours-in-after-unmasked-protesters-target-pub-with-negative-reviews/“Convoy to Canberra protesters have targeted King O'Malley's (pub) with one-star reviews on Google, after their refusal to wear masks at the Civic pub prompted the business to close early on Saturday. King O'Malley's closed at 6.30pm on Saturday - a night it would usually open until midnight or later - after a group of convoy protesters entered without masks. Pub managing director Peter Barclay said staff were uncomfortable serving the unmasked convoy members after they entered, and the business decided to close early to protect staff and patrons from potential COVID infection.” “A Queanbeyan towing business was forced to shut down its website and remove its phone number from the internet last week after being targeted by Canberra's anti-vaccination mandate and sovereign citizen protesters. The company was inundated with negative reviews and calls after it towed the group's cars from outside the National Library of Australia on Friday morning.” “ A north Canberra supermarket, which asked not to be identified, reportedly encountered verbal abuse from protesters between 2pm and 8pm on Saturday. One of the adult workers, who asked to be anonymous, said some of the protest members verbally abused the store's under-18 staff after being asked to wear masks and follow other ACT Health directions.” Seems they don’t give much consideration to Canberrans freedoms 😡

Today they (anti-vaxxers and sovereign citizen protesters) went to the airport and surrounds today. The politicians are due back in Canberra ttonight. They caused havoc with the traffic around there. They've been cleared off from around that area now.
There were normal people who had bookings for accom at EPIC but they were advised to cancel and stay elsewhere.
As you said kay...total whack jobs.

They used to protest every Sat. in Melb...but no-one was taking any notice of them (apart from them being a nuisance)..so now they've all converged on Canberra....Parliament starts tomorrow I think, so that could be interesting

Yes...hard to predict what will happen then.
"Liberal MLA Mark Parton says the protesters struggle to explain their objectives.
Mark Parton, a Liberal member of the ACT Legislative Assembly, said he spent more than an hour talking with demonstrators at their campsite last week.
"I found it very difficult to have a coherent discussion with any of them because they genuinely believe that all elected members of any parliament will be arrested for treason," he told the ABC.
"And some of them genuinely believe that there will be a public execution.
"When you're faced with that sort of narrative, it's very, very difficult to have a sensible argument."
Mr Parton said everyone he spoke with believed that the official pandemic data was falsified "because every publicly elected official, every senior health official, is being bribed by 'big pharma' [pharmaceutical companies]".

How in the heck did we get to the position in this country when people are saying things like that ☝️☝️ ? And how did it happen so quickly?

I’ve been wandering around reading Twitter and watching a few live streams. This crap in Canberra is almost certainly going to end badly today. I hope no one I know (or just anyone really) gets innocently caught up in it just by being in the wrong place at the wrong time
