Well, he didn’t make it to 100. Poor old fella, I liked him and his politically incorrect behaviour.

Wow. Wasn't really expecting that, even though I was joking about it. Ditto Clara.

I just read that too. So close to his 100 years birthday.
A shame Harry hasn't been able to/allowed to travel back to the UK.
My Grandma nearly made it to 105 yrs. She also got to talk to the Queen on one of her NZ walkabouts and her photo in the newspaper.

I loved his larrikin ways, Dickie Arbiter was just commenting about him chatting up the staff. He said he liked window shopping but never bought 105 is a good innings figgy did she still have all her marbles?

I just read this on Facebook. They were married for 73 years and together for over 81 years and still made each other laugh. My favourite photo of the Queen and Prince Philip. He dressed in full uniform one day as she was going out for an engagement, and caught her unawares. She broke into a fit of giggles.

The funny thing is to see all the tv stations playing their tributes all day and through the news. They have all had it ready to go for months, and possibly years.

Crikey, try saying that quickly 3 times after a few bevvies.
Was I the only one that stayed up to watch the funeral. So much singing, so depressing. Seeing HRH Anne made me feel 😔 . The service is boring, impersonal. Poor buggers, I feel sad for them all.

I just enjoyed looking at the beautiful church. I loved looking at how they organised it. I love the history and I hate to say it but it makes me feel very English.

Lol, joono, I didn’t see your post, yes charlies cheeks aren’t as rosy as usual so he will be hanging for a wee dram. The church was beautiful, but so strange seeing the church and streets empty.

I’m just having a look at the (probably many) replay. I’m struck by how beautiful the hymns sound in the magnificent acoustics without the chapel being filled with people. Who are the pair behind Andrew and Edward but before William and Harry in the procession?

I think it was Annes son walking with William and Harry. Followed by Annes husband and Princess Margarets son.

We only watched it until he was taken into the church.
I am glad no one in the family wore Military uniforms.

Who are the pair behind Andrew and Edward but before William and Harry in the procession? there were 3 of Philip's german relatives, so maybe one or two of those
or maybe these
Brigadier Archie Miller-Bakewell served Prince Philip for more than a decade The Private Secretary was among a handful of non-Royals involved in the funeral He walked behind the coffin with a police officer, two valets and two pages
peter phillips is one of them

I'm probably going to hell for this, but when I saw those images of the Queen all I could think was OMG it's Giles's grandma. (Giles was a very well known British cartoonist and 'Grandma' was one of his most famous creations.)

I didn't bother staying up to watch it, knowing it would be repeated over and over
today. I thought it was lovely just what old cranky pants would have wanted. Oh and
the chatting between Will's and Harry.
Wills said "you f'ing dickhead Harry" Harry said "meet me behind the Castle wanker and we will
sort this out !!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Just typical brotherly love.

I am certainly not a royalist, quite the opposite in fact but ……
I think it may have actually been a bit of a relief to some of them to not have to put up with all the crowds and multiple “dignitaries” who would been there in normal circumstances (well, except of all of us watching remotely)

I watched it. The Duke had input into a lot of it..his funeral, his choice.

My FiL did that as well. He had very detailed instruction written into his will - what music, which readings, where to put his ashes etc. Maybe it’s a Navy thing? Whatever, it made it very much easier to arrange his funeral

It's odd how Prince Charles berated Boris Johnson over the Rwanda plan for migrants; then this suspiciously gets dredged up. That's not sus timing at all. It's out of order by Prince Charles, but then the hypocritical govt of the day have no right to berate anyone.

Hmm..I wonder what will happen after the Queen goes? She does have a lot of support. Will Charles get the same respect?

He even has [or had] the ginger beard befitting a king!
