genographic.nationalgeographic.com/human-journey/I found this concise version of macro migration.... Like most of you I am interested in finding out about my personal family history( hit a brick wall on father's side) but I figure this is part of our story too. I must confess that I spend a lot of time searching ancient history but pre-history is so fascinating.

That was a good read. Here's one that I found interesting. Search.... Neanderthal | Characteristics, DNA,& Facts| Britannica.com. ( Not posting the link cause they wanted me to register with credit card # for a free trial.) At the bottom of the page there are links more specifically to Europe, Spain, and Portugal. Since, I am of Portuguese descent I found info on the Iberian Peninsula of particular interest. Didn't get to the European link because I got cut off by the demand that I join for the free trial... Well, maybe later..... I am also of the British Isles, most likely Scot. My brother had his pie chart done and it had him traced to the Balearic Islands, that was news to the family. We know that in recent history my mother's family came from the Azores. Of course, that led me off on a tangent for Balearic Islands history.....

Wow, ava….you are a one woman melting pot of humanity duffy, I have always been amazed by the British Isles and the divisions between the people living in such a small area. I was fortunate to be in England for six weeks long ago. Wales was so beautiful and distinct in identity.
