I love that one too Pepe. Has the Packing Room prize winner ever won the Archibald prize as well?

Another pick, or a couple more.
Karyn Zamel 'Myself' Anh Do Art and war Jun Chen Mao's last dance
That means they won't win because I can never pick the winner.

The ones that made me stop and look again were
#42 Jun Chen, 'Mao's last dance â Li Cunxin'
#36 Keith Burt, 'Benjamin Law: happy sad'
#33 Kendal Gear, 'Self-portrait'
#32 Jordan Richardson, 'Annabel
#19 Erika Cholich, 'Unadorned (self-portrait)'
#11 Angus McDonald, 'Mariam Veiszadeh' (love the reference to Girl with Pearl Earring)
#4 Clare Thackway, 'Billow and tide'
but I think my favourite (today) is #12 Natasha Walsh, 'A liminal space'

It's # 31 Tony Costa, 'Lindy Lee', oil on canvas
The judges can always see something I can't see. I saw it on the news though and it looked better on tv.

The detail in the David Wenham is incredible.
The one that took my eye was number 45.
I don't like the one that won.

I hadn't decided what one I liked best.. there's quite a few I liked a lot...then saw the winner was announced already.
I wouldn't have gone for the winning one.

I think they just pull a number out of a hat for the winner.
I liked 'The Stand'

I like #6 'Liz Laverty' painted on rusted iron #11 'Self-portrait entering the Archibald'. I like the blue glow from the computer screen #12 "lucy' #23 'Soils for life' #30 'Matt Kean, NSW Minister for Environment and Energy' #31 "Richard"
I like #30. To me it emphasizes how ridiculous it is to lump Environment in with Energy as portrayed by the burning waratah. NSW coal is a big contributor to world CO2 emissions. The teflon suit he is wearing shows that shit doesn't stick to a polly, or perhaps it shows how commonsense, facts, figures and criticism slide right off. Or perhaps it's to protect him from climate change.
The ones I would hang on my wall would be #6 or #15
#50 is beautiful
my pick for winner is the shoe shop or david marr
