Lemon and sugar are my favourites too though it would be 20 years since I last indulged.

Lemon and sugar, definitely the only way to eat pancakes.

I am feeling inspired by this thread to make some Hot Cross Buns. Will it be ok if I make a trial batch before Easter?

Lemon and sugar, definitely the only way to eat pancakes. Noooo. I have some (shop bought - oh the shame) pancakes for tomorrow’s breakfast. Maple syrup and whipped cream here

I remember Catholics not eating meat on Fridays from when I was at Primary School.
Had a Catholic school friend stay over on a Fri night and Mum forgot about the no meat thing.
I used to like lemon and sugar pancakes best..now a fan of maple syrup too.

OH loves crepes suzette. I keep the shop bought, ready made crepes in the freezer (they taste and look better than those I make).
Any time he feels the urge for them, they are very quick and easy to make.

That's a good idea Prim
I weakened and bought a pkt. of hot cross buns today.. they were brioche style., they're OK, but I prefer the traditional, we hadn't tried these before

I did too, deb. The traditonal fruit ones from Coles.
I'm not keen on brioche.. rich, sweet bread is a bit much, imo. If it was handmade by bakeries in France might be OK....compared to mass produced items by an Aussie supermarket.
