I got a lovely big, authentic paella pan and the promise of a recipe lesson from my DiL who got it from a little old lady in Barcelona. And lots of other lovely stuff

I love paella, you are in for some great meals :).
I got to spend a whole day with my daughter and grown grandchildren, something that does not happen often enough for me LOL.
Lucky I am retired because I received a Game of Thrones book, Fire and Blood. It is huge and will take care of any spare moment I have in 2019.

it's a rubber spatula that has a squarish spoon like bowl instead of being flat. the rubbermaid ones are heat safe, so i can use them for anything where i'd be scraping down the sides of a pot or pan, like stews and sauces and stuff. they're also cold safe too, so i can use them for making sorbets and they don't freeze and crack. this set includes some really small ones for stuff like scraping out jars, and one that has a flare at the bottom to scrape out squeeze bottles of stuff like mayo or bbq sauce. they are a joy to cook with!

* one year when i was a bartender, "santa claus" was horrified at my joy over getting a new paring knife in our secret santa exchange, when every one else got some kind of jewelry, it was hilarious!*

We don't do big presents among the adults any longer - there are just too many of us. We had a lovely family Christmas on Saturday at DDs house - 17 people and a Secret Santa with a $20 limit. I got a small coffee plunger. We got to catch up with three grandchildren whom we hadn't seen for some time and had a long 'facetime' chat with another granddaughter who is in America doing an internship at Disneyworld. Also lots of FB group chat and videos yesterday from family in Darwin, Brisbane and Melbourne. All in all a really special Christmas.

We decided against gift buying this year on exes side of the family. It's all about the eat drink and be merry. We stopped years ago on my side but of course I still bought prezzies for my boys and they gave me some more Christmas tree ornaments and some miu miu perfume which is really nice. I don't usually wear perfume but I will now.

One of my DiLs and I had a discussion about doing Kris Kringle next year. She said “but I’d still get things for the kids”, I replied “but they (my 30 something year old sons) are my kids!” So of course we resolved nothing 😂

Our eldest grandson decided for this Christmas he was going to give everyone awards.
He printed and laminated them himself.
I got the "Betty Crocker" award.
Hubby got the "Handy Man" award.
Our future DIL got the "Jinga Ninja" award.
But the funniest was our middle grand daughter...................she got the "Drama Queen" award................and she cried...........threw herself on the couch crying it wasn't fair...........she is not a drama queen.
Our eldest son got the "most luxurious hair" award..................(which is a family joke...........as he is not the slightest bit vane about anything................other than his hair)
The littlest grand daughter got the "best dancer" award................."she is a HUGE Wiggles fan.........and knows all the dances"
Our SIL got the "fee - fi - foe" award................as he is the tallest in the family.

Go for the celery. Just avoid filling it with cream cheese or peanut butter if you can.

I have a very old and lengthy story about celery and particularly celery soup.
I’m going away to be sick now 🤢

I'm not a fan of celery either.. does anyone remember that "quick start"" soup diet it does work and it's a fast way to lose a couple of kg.. but after a couple of weeks of that soup , I've never been able to eat celery again au.news.yahoo.com/kick-start-stage-one-soup-recipe-39731.htmlreally, the soup isn't bad if you haven't tried it before

I remember that soup. It's very tasty for the first day or two. I think I would gag if I tried it now. I suspect most of the weight lost incurred was fluid. I have lost 4 kg's and stalled. I think I'll have to get off my butt and start doing exercises.

don't be too hard on yourself Clarabelle. 4 kg since Christmas is pretty darn good
a slow down may require a bit more effort though.. how about a 30 min fast walk per day
(I've lost nothing since Christmas btw)
