I often fall under the bleeding heart category, and, yes, I do understand what it is like to be suicidal, however, it is one thing to murder yourself but another entirely when you take the of another person, especially that of a child. Did he think he was doing what was best for the baby or did he do it out of spite? Either way, it is very, very sad.

I read that Rolf Harris was kicked out of a schoolyard the other day. www.news.com.au/entertainment/celebrity-life/celebrities-gone-bad/rolf-harris-allegedly-entered-berkshire-school-grounds-before-being-told-to-leave/news-story/82233cddc8b7b829f1744bf5f4b6e4b3Convicted paedophile Rolf Harris reportedly walked onto the grounds of a primary school on Tuesday — before waving at children. Harris, 88, was told to leave by the head teacher of the school in Maidenhead, in Berkshire to the west of London. A witness, who took pictures of Harris stalking the grounds, told the UK’s Mirror newspaper: “I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.” The disgraced entertainer — who served three years in prison for a string of historical sex offences — shook hands with the head teacher before he was ordered off the site, the paper says. Shamed TV star Harris was sentenced in June 2014 to five years nine months in prison for a dozen indecent assaults against four teenage girls between 1968 and 1986. He was released on license after three years in May 2017 — with his sentence running out in March next year. “An officer attended the scene but no offence was committed. No arrests were made.”

He should be sent straight back to jail to serve the rest of his sentence.

We've just had a case here in Bunbury of a convicted paedophile being found on a primary school oval. He was living in a motel that backed onto it and told police he thought it was a park

Very distressing for a child (young or adult) who has one parent murdered and the other parent is the murderer.
The old... 'she went for a walk and never came back' story by a male partner/husband, never rings true.

pretty easy to tell when they go on television, trying hard to shed tears, and asking the public to contact police if they have any info
we have just had one here who got away with it for 20 years, until someone found a few bones, not all of the woman has been found, he buried her once, then dug her up and reburied her elsewhere....he said they had an argument and she walked off

i think in a while when she has had time to process it all and is out of denial the daughter is going to regret that character reference

IMHO. all animal abusers and child abusers should be put down. Their sentences are too short for the crimes they commit.

that's a bit harsh, who would then support the millions of children left behind?

those people aren't supporting any children while they are being abusive, maggie. that's what protective services are for, and i support that sentiment. although, in my state, they need to do a hell of a lot more. i would much rather see a child in foster care than dead, and that IS happening here. thankfully, our new governor is trying to fix that issue. she's a good woman.

yes, they are, Barri, they go to work and earn money to support their children....often they are the sole "breadwinner"

that's a bit harsh, who would then support the millions of children left behind? I don't think it's harsh. I consider it just rewards for being a monster. I condone sanctioned euthanasia for those arrested, tried, and convicted ...with absolutely no doubt of their culpability. Actually would prefer they die exactly as they treated their victims.
Children will have a better life without these monsters. How could it be much worse than what they've suffered?

only a very small handful of child abusers go to jail (in this country), you suggested that they and all the others not in jail be put to death, which is why i asked who is going to support all their children

Most of the time when an abuser gets caught they only get a slap on the wrist. I do advocate putting these monsters down when they have been proven guilty of child and animal abuse beyond a reasonable doubt. There's really no place for them in society.
As to who will take care of the children? Social services, foster parents, adoptive parents, charities. Unfortunately not all of these children will have a happy life even in new homes and some will probably die. We're not living in a perfect, utopian world. I'd rather give them have a chance to survive in a better environment, than be put back with their monsters. Children deserve better than having to live with their abusers.

i think any child removed from a home and placed in care should still be supported by the parent - abuse and neglect of your kids should not be a 'get out of jail free' card

i think we are talking about different categories of offenders......one in four children is abused, they are usually not removed from the home unless the abuse is very serious and both parents are involved...... other solutions are found.......the abusers are doctors, lawyers, tradesmen, public servants, truck drivers, all occupations.....
i do agree with what you said there, Pepe, but taxpayers cannot support tens of thousands of other families where the abuse is not serious enough for the children to be removed
as for the baby and child killers like the ones we have seen recently, i think everyone agrees that their jail time is way too short, in most cases i think it should be for life with no chance of parole......they are the worst of the worst scum of society
