for two years, observers have speculated that the June, 2016, Brexit campaign in the U.K. served as a petri dish for Donald Trump’s Presidential campaign in the United States. Now there is new evidence that it did. Newly surfaced e-mails show that the former Trump adviser Steve Bannon, and Cambridge Analytica, the Big Data company that he worked for at the time, were simultaneously incubating both nationalist political movements in 2015.

I just saw this tweet which made me Dear @tonyabbottmhr, the people of North Sentinel Island in the Andaman Sea are yearning for a heroic Christian envoy to bring them the Gospels and teach them their catechism. Can you please help?

I'm proud of the way Victoria voted.. it showed that all the scare campaigns and bullying didn't work
the libs have lost "blue ribbon""seats they've always held
Brighton voting for the 19 year old kid in has sent a strong message... anyone but the Libs

The Morrison government is secretly threatening a tit-for-tat referral of crossbench MP Kerryn Phelps and Labor MPs to the High Court if the Parliament moves on Peter Dutton.
Mr Pyne confirmed the threat on Wednesday morning, saying he would attempt to refer Member for Wentworth Kerryn Phelps, South Australian Labor MP Tony Zappia and NSW Labor MP Mike Freelander, on the grounds that his work as a doctor could invoke section 44 because of Medicare payments.
geez they're a bunch of bullies.... Dr Phelps has only been in Parliament for a couple of days too
I doubt they'd have the numbers for this stunt

Dutton and Morrison should both be referred to the court. The International Criminals Court.

Nationals MPs have now warned they will oppose the scheme unless Attorney-General Christian Porter ensures it would not allow ministers to be fingered for corruption if they ignored departmental advice and approve grants for projects in rural or regional areas.

I heard on radio this morning that Morrison was hoping to act as "mediator" between China and the U.S. but this is how it really went down Verified account @samanthamaiden Donald Trump capturing the public mood. “Who is this guy? What happened to the other one? What’s his name?

It makes one look at the common spelling error in "to bare[sic] arms" in a different light. Yesterday's farce was unbelievable. The stalling tactics used in the Senate were deplorable and should not have been allowed. It was just one more opportunity to torture the refugees on Manus and Nauru. The bill will pass the House of Reps on Feb.12th but there will be much suffering in the meantime. At least three men on Manus are close to death and will die unless proper medical care is given. At least another eleven are in critical condition. As of this morning, there have been 29 suicides over the past 2 weeks. This is on Manus alone. The bill will still give the relevant minister the option to veto any medical transfers and the refugees will only be here for medical treatment before being returned to the hellholes. This will not "restart the boats" as the histrionic temporary PM has shrieked. The boats haven't stopped. The numbers have decreased but that it is because of the "turning back of the boats". I don't think there are any figures as to the amount of "deaths at sea" have occurred as a result of the turnbacks. The actions and words of various LNP members and serial nutters, Bernadi and Hansen, were disgusting. A complete abuse of power. Power that they do not deserve. It was an emotionally charged day for many and the fallout continues today. Yet another Court battle for the urgent medical transfer of a critically ill refugee is taking place, We have been forced to continue on fighting for these people, one at a time. It is so unnecessary and should have been done and dusted yesterday but for the clusterfuckery of politicians. Nearly each and every medical transfer has been because of the Court overruling the government. The inquest recommendations after death of Hamid Khazaei were pretty damning but obviously have been ignored by those in power. Timely and proper medical care would have saved this young man's life. By the time he was transferred to Australia it was too late and he subsequently died. www.abc.net.au/news/2018-07-30/asylum-seeker-hamid-khazaei-coronial-inquest-death-preventable/10050512Rant over. For now.

I watched the senate the other day.. anyone who saw what went on in there would be disgusted at the political game playing to avoid that bill reaching the upper house
