Well he did it.
Pepe, not being from Vic I would love to know why you won't be happy with
the outcome of the election.

its not a party issue for me - its a leader of the party issue.
i don't believe he handled the covid outbreak correctly - in fact his ego and decisions were responsible for the second wave he sat back and let others take the fall for his mistakes, and he has a very poor memory - he 'can't recall' a lot of things.
If he had owned his mistakes i would have voted for him but he didn't and he never will.
Also his big promise for our area is a new hospital, knowing that would win hm votes - he had plenty of opportunity to do that already but stated we didn't need it. I have my doubts we will see that promise fulfilled.
i do not trust him to do what is in the state's best interests.

Fair enough pepe. That’s what democracy is all about.
As you know I’m not from Vic so don’t have any skin in the game. I just remember that it was Andrews who pretty much shamed Morrison to get things happening to help people on this coast (Mallacoota) during the bush fires. I also think he was instrumental in getting National Cabinet happening in the early days of covid. Who knows what would have happened if it had been left to Gladys and Morrison. But I do admit I haven’t looked into Vic politics any more deeply.

He's been in hiding, only poking his head up recently. I wonder if he was waiting out a time constraint to
collect some of the handouts he was due to collect.

He is referred to as Gladys ex now. Bad judge of character. 7 Feb '23 "Maguire was charged in November last year with conspiring to cause to be furnished false documents and false or misleading information relating to non-citizens. Federal prosecutors allege Maguire conspired with migration agent Maggie Sining Logan between January 2013 and August 2015 to help non-citizens fraudulently obtain visa. " ....The hearings also exposed his secret affair with Berejiklian, who resigned in September 2021 following the revelation. www.smh.com.au/national/nsw/daryl-maguire-fronts-court-on-cash-for-visas-conspiracy-charge-20230207-p5cih5.html

My default position is always that accusations of sexual assault should be believed and acted upon. However, I think Thorpe has shouted WOLF too often to be taken seriously. I’m afraid I see her as a huge attention seeker and I worry about the negative impact her jumping on this particular band wagon may have on other victims of SA, especially in Parliament House.

Thorpe has withdrawn the statement but says she will have more to say today. Interesting. I think I read that she can't be charged if she is lying because it was said under parliamentary privilege.
Like I said, I'm no fan, but with a statement like that surely it has to be looked into.

The first thing they need to do is remove drinking on the job, which seems pretty run of the mill for politicians. Do they still have a bar at parliament house?
How about they do random drug and alcohol tests like they do in other jobs like mining and even in office jobs depending on the company. That will at least stop Barnaby falling asleep during question time.

Thee hasn’t been a members bar for a long time joono. From memory I don’t think since the move to the “new” house in 1988 (but happy to be corrected). There is far too much a culture of drinking to excess though.
Amanda Stoker has accused Senator Van of behaving inappropriately now too. Kate Jenkins must be tearing her hair out

This morning I was watching the streaming of Bruce Lehrmann in his defamation trial against channel 10 and Lisa Wilkinson on youtube. It really was a bit of a train wreck. I stopped the video before I had to go out for a while and when I came back it was closed to the public and you have to have permission to watch it.
Also, a lot of the comments on Twitter from others watching it have disappeared. I have the distinct impression that Lehrmann regrets starting this whole thing. What an outright liar, multiple times. That's from what he can "recall". I don't think he really thought this through.

If you're going to your work place (a very official type place) after a party (late in the evening) why would you take anyone else with you?

I suspect Lehman may have done an "Oscar Wilde"
In 1891, Wilde began an affair with Lord Alfred Douglas, a young British poet and aristocrat 16 years his junior. Douglas’ father, the Marquess of Queensberry, was outraged by the relationship and sought to expose Wilde. He left a calling card for Wilde with the porter at the private Albemarle Club in London. The card read: “For Oscar Wilde, posing somdomite [sic].” This caused a public relations nightmare for Wilde. Homosexual acts were a criminal offense in England at the time and remained illegal there until the 1960s. Friends who knew of Wilde’s sexual orientation urged him to flee to France until the storm subsided. (France had decriminalized homosexuality in 1791 during the French Revolution.) Against their counsel, Wilde decided to sue the Marquess for defamation. He took the Marquess to court for criminal libel. When it became apparent he was going to lose the case Wilde’s lawyer withdrew the lawsuit. The authorities saw this as a sign of implied guilt and issued a warrant for Wilde’s arrest on indecency charges - charges on which he was subsequently found guilty and sent to prison.

I suspect Lehrmann who is studying to become a lawyer has borrowed Christian Porters
text books. The one with pages ripped out of it.

"In court on Monday, Mr Lehrmann was asked about a conversation he had with his Parliament House boss, Fiona Brown. Mr Lehrmann told the court on Monday that he did not tell Ms Brown that he went to work in the early hours of March 23, 2019 - while intoxicated - to make notes on Question Time briefs. He thought Ms Brown would take that explanation seriously and that the Australian Federal Police may have been involved. Instead, he told her he went to work that night to have a drink." www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12793351/Bruce-Lehrmann-federal-court-australia-defamation-trial-higgins-ten-sum.htmlThat's what bars, pubs are for...
