Can't believe no one asked about sex industry job?

I revealed a little PI tonight that was revealed at CTTP years ago.
I can't believe no one asked me any questions.


In 1992 I saw the movie Short Cuts with Jennifer Jason Leigh playing a phone sex operator (while ironing clothes lol).
Shortly thereafter I saw a brief documentary about phone sex and phone psychics.
Fast forward and I see an ad in the paper for both. My husband at the time thinks it's a really good idea.

I chose the sex over the psychic position. For the next year I supplemented our income for a few hours, for a few nights, each week.

[My first boyfriend called me Jodie as a pet name because I resembled Jodie Foster. So when I skimmed over the list of stage names, I picked Jodie.]

During the first month talking to strangers on the phone I realized I had the makings of a book. I began to take notes and the title was going to be "Sexual Deviance In America".

Some men were willing to talk to me, some wanted their money back (and got it) because they were expecting to get a different convo.

It got complicated as time went on... My notes and such ended up being destroyed... and I quit.


Years later when my husband moved out and I needed quick money, I tried it again. They said I had to use a different name and leave Jodie behind so I chose ------ as my name.

This next stint was so different.
The men were different in what they wanted to talk about.
Deviance didn't begin to describe it. I quit after 3 weeks.
