no, a swaggie is a bloke who walks around out in the bush from place to place for work & tucker and carries his bed in a roll on his back. ( known as the swag).

no, Deb, but some years ago one like the top one but bigger, sold for $3,000 at an antique fair in brisbane
when i was sorting my mother's stuff, i left behind a clarice cliff bizarre vase which had been broken and repaired, bugga, it would have been worth something now, no idea what the others did with it
my pics are bit blurry, don't know why

Carmella will love the crinoline lady jug... I've never seen that before in the Clarice Cliff range
all I really know is that the Bizarre range was the most popular

my daughter owns them now, not sure if her children will want them, young people today go for kmart stuff which they replace every year, she has a lot of old things, and doesn't know whether to sell them now or keep them for the children who might not want them.....different world

carm, the first present i ever bought for my FIL was a windup tin ferris wheel, an antique i found at a junk shop in boston. to this day, i don't know why i bought it, i thought he'd hate it, but i sent it to him anyway( this was the year before we got married) . i was ASTOUNDED to find that he loved it! so over the course of 25 years, i bought him tin toys, and tin& lead soldiers and planes, anything that struck my fancy, he filled his home office with them. oddly enough, when MIL had the moving sale before she moved to florida after he passed, they made the most money. the lady who bought them still has them, and plans to donate them to the local museum when she passes. i like that thought! me, i collect figural brooches/pins, i'll try to figure out how to get some pics up soon.

I actually went to an op shop this morning , been a fair while since i've been to one. anyway i picked up a chamber pot a meakin , in a dusty pink and green with embossed leaves one it. 8.00 it wasn't chipped . very clean inside. A photo of one of the two I have. No markings and I don't know how old they are but as I got them 50 years ago and in an Antique shop, I assume they have a couple more years of age on them. Edited to say: Sorry photo won't upload as forum has reached it quota. I will try another time.

TBH who cares about the crazing. I don't because I keep plants in them and you can't see it and I won't be selling them in my life time because I love them and always want them around. They are probably worth nothing anyway.

The green and pink is much prettier than mine. I think they are all quaint, regardless of colour or design.

I was just searching the web looking for a picture of a bowl I used to have. It was quite large and had, what I thought, were perfectly formed stuck on brightly coloured pottery pansies and leaves all over the outside of the bowl. It was beautiful …..until OH broke it :( I never got around to searching to find who the maker was or even if it was valuable (got it at a garage sale). Nothing has come up so at least I can't taunt myself that it was a major mishap.

Well i went to our local oppie this morning, this wasn't old but just gorgeous. i picked a box which was covered in satin material in gold with blue, mauve and a golden yellow buterfly's on it.
inside was a gold 100% satin runner with 6 napkins with rings all with same different colour butterfly's . all for 2.00. it was brand new it could be a bit vintage but no real age to them.
