The quote function exhibits some odd behaviour on here. (Much like me)
Anyway, it's sad to see the combined effects of climate change and indifference from successive govts. This conservationist adds (notably):

777, I am a wildlife carer specialising in koalas. It is predicted koalas will be functionally extinct by 2050. It seems a bit far fetched to most people, but I have no doubt in it’s truth. In just one decade we have lost my local population of some 800 koalas. We had a about 3 years of very hot summers and drought, and an 80% infection rate of chlamydia causing infertility and death. The infertility is the worst, there are no joeys or juveniles. The population is aging and dying. Throw in loss of habitat and a government that doesn’t give a shit because the koalas are a hindrance to land developers, urban expansion and economic growth of communities and they are doomed.

We lost a terrible lot of our wildlife during the bushfires we had a couple of years ago..it was so distressing, and mining is a big issue here

just to give you an example of what's going on here 777. We produce plenty of gas, but the mining companies prefer to sell it overseas than supply us... and they pay very little or no tax here. Our electricity companies have all been sold off to overseas countries and we had a Govt that held us back for 10 years on renewables.. hopefully with a change of Govt just a few weeks ago, that will change www.abc.net.au/news/2022-06-03/gas-crisis-threatens-manufacturers-jobs-and-rising-prices/101114712

From my understanding, the original Tesla idea of generating free electric is perfectly feasible. Nikola Tesla's Free Electricity Electronic Circuit Will fully admit - have never seen it working on a large scale in real life - with my own eyes, but as I understand it - it really does work.. Therefore, what's the need for "Big Energy" as they term it in Yankland..?

Our politicians argue that the sun doesn't shine at night and the wind doesn't always blow . A response to that that I really liked was that it doesn't always rain but we manage to store water...we're just going to have to figure out how to store energy..In my state we have a moratorium on fracking

I wish we had a ban on fracking. We finally got rid of the Shenhua coal mine threat, and now Santos has gas exploration licenses all over our farming community. I understand the need for gas, but fracking coal seams on agricultural land with underlying aquifers is the not way to do it.
I’ve just been for a walk through the sheep paddock. No cats or kittens, but no quail either .
