Update on Caramilk choc
Coles on special @ $3. (none there this afternoon, of course).
Prim - I asked to get a raincheck for one... they just write out a docket so you can get one (after the special ends) at the sale price. They don't notify you or keep one for you, as I suggested the other day.. Been a long time since I have done a raincheck.. forgot about them actually.. usually just look at empty space, shrug and walk away.
Might do it more often now, if there's a good special I miss out one due to empty shelf.

One good thing about Canberra is the supermarkets in the bigger Malls are near each other/next door even.. so you can pop into Coles/Woolworths/Aldi without having to trek from one side of the mall to the other, or have to drive around different places.

"they just write out a docket so you can get one (after the special ends) at the sale price. "
Thanks for that info Figlet, I will tell my OH as he sweats on Magnums being on special and complains when they are all gone, which is often. I am not sure how he will cope if they ever stop making them.

I don't know much about cars but anything new sounds fabulous. I have never had a new car either though it is a possibility the government will buy me one once I retire. :)

The new cars are so 'computerised', with a screen in the dashboard and buttons to push on the steering wheel for all sorts of things. Knowing how to turn the indicators and the windscreen wipers on...is enough for me.

Knowing how to turn the indicators and the windscreen wipers on...is enough for me. Me too. I probably would not set up a playlist, etc. I really just use cars to get from point A to point B. Daughter just got a new car a few months ago and it has lots of safety gadgets but it didn't stop her getting the side of the car wiped off within a week when a biker behind her changed lanes as she did. She has beeps etc. to warn of a vehicle in the merging lane, but no beeps so he wasn't there when she started merging. It is assumed he swung into the lane quickly and he certainly did not indicate or she would have seen it. She has a car video and you can hear her indicators for quite a while before she moved lanes so he must have ignored hers. The insurance companies decided they were both at fault and she had to pay her excess and he, his.

I bought a new car about 18 months ago. It has some of the bells and whistles but not all of them. I’m trying to persuade himself that we should replace his car this year. I don’t think I’m winning.
I’ve been awake since about 4am, for no good reason. Now I’m tired again 💤 I think it’s the crazy weather playing havoc with my sleep patterns.

So annoying waking early. When it happens to me I hit a wall around 2pm. We watched the Olympics until the early hours. I have been up since 6 but OH is still in bed.
I am driving a very old car at the moment but I am quite attached to it. My daughter won it on a TV show and it was a Godsend for her at the time. Years ago she bought a new car and gave that one to me. She had looked after it extremely well, it drives like a dream and there is nothing wrong with it. It does not feel right to discard it when it is still quite usable but that time is coming. I will miss it.

exciting news about the car Fig... I understand what you're saying about all the gadgets... but you'll get used to them in time..
Prim I''m hardly ever in bed before 2am and I'm always up early as well ( not as early as 6am though)

I am a night person too Deb. I was always doing the housework at midnight when I had my best spurt of energy but once I went back to work I HAD to go to bed.
It has always been a struggle to get to sleep as my inner clock never adjusted and these days sometimes I wake early. Neighbour asked me a while ago if I was having trouble sleeping. I asked her how did she know and she said because she was having trouble sleeping too and when she got up she could see my office light on. You never know who is watching LOL

Have a lovely time, Flashie. It sounds absolutely lovely.
When I bought my Yaris, it was only a year old and that is the closest I've been in having a new car.
I'm a nightowl that has become over time, a day person. My sleep patterns are struggling a bit , mainly because of this cpap machine but I finally have the correct mask but I still get woken up by it during the night. I spent yesterday on the couch, watching Netflix. God, they have a lot of crappy stuff but I did watch a great doco about the shower scene in "Psycho".

Ava, years ago someone on CS recommended and posted a link to this doco site. It has come in handy when I needed a doco fix. documentaryaddict.com/

I’ve just been out and bought baguettes and prosciutto and gherkins and lovely cheeses and pate and we’re going to have a picnic on our balcony. This weekend is the first time since before Christmas that we have been on our own. It’s lovely 😊

I'm a night owl rather than a lark.
I have trouble sleeping when the weather is extreme and so changeable... Had 6.9 degt overnight recently (wake up cold) and still 27 deg at midnight (too hot, can't get to sleep) last week...
Prim - that was awfully bad luck for your daughter in her new car (the accident).

She wasn't impressed about it but it's all fixed now and back to as new. She has a Mazda something. It is much more comfortable than the last Mazda she had. I find them hard to get in an out of.
She thinks I should get a Nissan Juke because they are easy to get in and out of but I like Hyundais.

We are a 2 car family. We have our 'shopping trolley' - a little Suzuki Alto, for driving around town and a Mitsubishi Lancer for longer trips.

I quite liked the Mazda 2 or 3 too.
OH has another car... for long trips.. he doesn't register it most of the time though, because it's not used.. I think you can do 3 months rego here and not renew it when it runs out by choice. It' manual so I wouldn't drive it.

If you don't register a car here, after a couple of months you have to take it over the pits to get registered again. It's a nightmare for younger people that are a bit lax with this stuff. My son They will pick on every little thing.. A couple of "inspectors" at our closest licensing centre have been prosecuted for taking bribes.

I hope everything goes well for you today Lyn. If you have been a good girl it will :)
I am having a lazy day today (did too much yesterday and am paying for it).
Anyone watching the Olympics? I am. I think they are all very brave as it seems like almost every event could kill you.
