Because we have lots of kids to feed I always make a pasta salad.............just grated carrot, peas and corn with mint and mayo.
The adults like something a little more interesting.
Our middle SILis making the adults salads this year.
I am a bit worried as he has a really spicy palate.
It might be pasta salad for me this year too.

Not much this year, Flashie. I'm just doing a potato salad with cornichons and a green salad. Also the crayfish and prawn salad I've ordered a potato bake to come with the turkey, and I think ex's girlfriend is bring a coleslaw. Looks like Joz didn't get an invite again this year

I make a potato bake every year. I have to make it in the baking dish so there is enough. These days Christmas is the only time I make it. We have one daughter who decided a long time ago she cant cook.............so she is in charge of buying the fruit............ I decided to cut back on desserts this year...............(but I have bought a couple of frozen cheesecakes just in case)

Crayfish you say? What time should I be there?
I’m making a pea and pancetta salad, DiL is doing a rocket, sweet potato & feta one and there’s another that I can’t remember right now.

I love pancetta. I use it a lot in pasta dishes. I must remember to buy some chorizo to go with olives and a bit of cheese and stuff. If I don't use it on the day it will get used anyway.

Merry Christmas to all of you. You get to celebrate Christmas before us. But we won't be far behind. We're having our daughter and he husband, and my son and his partner for dinner and gift exchange. And of course my grandson will be here. I can't wait. I'm making a rib roast for dinner, with baked potatoes, cooked carrots and corn pudding. And I'm making a mocha cheesecake for dessert.

Traditional Christmas here roast dinner and trimmings, cheese cake and
trifle. Visited the princess at her resting place at 6.30 this morning. It
would have been her 97th birthday, she got flowers.

I hope everyone had a wonderful day. We had the traditional huge lunch - pork, lamb, ham lots of salads, prosciutto wrapped broccolini (it’s delicious), then pavlova and cheesecake.
Followed by a massive water bomb fight and then a downpour while all the kids were in the spa. The younger adults didn’t finish up until about 3am I think. Youngest son was booked on a flight to Melbourne for the Boxing Day test at 8am - not sure yet if he made it or not.
I’m predicting a very quiet day today ……

A very good Christmas day here. Cooler weather. Christmas lunch...prawns, mushroom pie, salads etc. Ate dessert later on.. gelato, ice cream and raspberries. Had a carrot cake for later but most still full. Christmas movie after lunch, played card games in the evening. Day went fast.
Elderly neighbours invited us (OH & I) for a piece of Christmas cake & drink at 5 pm..so we went there for that.
