Your tree looks so pretty, Flashie. I want to get a tiny white one to hang my crystal ornaments on. They don't show up well on the green one.

If people are afraid (for good reason) of COVID- they can always zoom chat with their loved one's. But if everyone has been vaccinated- you can get together without worrying too much about killing grandma.
The anti-vaxxers are total downers- taking the wind out of the, "Holiday Spirit."

i love your stockings flashie Thanks................I made them all.
Each year our family get bigger and it costs more and more to fill the stockings with chocolate
I was going to cut it down to just the grand children.........(but I hate to see a grown man cry.............our eldest son)
So I compromised by knitting smaller ones.
The ones in the photo are just the grand childrens.

No particular reason figlet, except that every time we check in somewhere (which we are religiously doing) we run the risk of being a close contact of someone positive. Then we would have to go into quarantine up here for 14 days. We’re booked to fly home on Monday
Not that I would change being here. It’s been fantastic spending time with our son, but I really don’t want to miss Christmas with our little people.

Bah humbug. You lot guilted me into digging out the xmas tree I bought last year at the post xmas sales. It’s a 20 dollar fibre optic job fromThe Reject Shop. It’s actually really pretty when turned on. Who knows, I might even add some decorations to it.
Your bogroll bonbons looks very festive Pepe.

Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year. Last year I put up a small tree and that was it. No other decorations. I made up for it this year. I did a Grinch tree with homemade quilted ornaments .

Thanks Pepe. They are really easy to make. They are styrofoam balls and you just fold 2.5 inch squares of fabric and pin them.

Did you make those? They are beautiful. I had a rainbow tree last year and your colored ornaments would have been so pretty on it. Are they styrofoam with fabric pushed into the balls. I'd love to know how you make them.

i don't use a measuring tape though, i use rubber bands and cut along the little grooves they leave - much quicker
she is using a blade to tuck in the fabric - i use a nail file or butter knife
i did these for a rainbow tree a gew years ago

I'm definitely going to try some of those ornaments. I love the idea of the rainbow colors. I did a rainbow tree last year but with was strictly with balls. I now have enough ornaments to do 7 or 8 different themes. Attachments:

Egulch...............I want to have a go at making those fabric balls.
I have watched them being done on youtube.
But..............some use 2=1/2 in squares.........and some use 2 1/2x 3 and only fold the top down and then triangle them.
Which is easier do you think?
Pepe..............I want to make those balls you made................but styrofoam is my nemesis............I hate the sound and feel of it.
I dont know if I could tolerate all that squeaking tucking the fabric in.

Pepe..............I want to make those balls you made................but styrofoam is my nemesis............I hate the sound and feel of it. I dont know if I could tolerate all that squeaking tucking the fabric in. I did all of mine with 2 1/2 inch squares. I can't figure how it would be done with 3 inches because the pin goes on the inside at the very middle which you get by folding the square into quarters. Putting the first pin in the center, hides it. And then the pins you use to tack the corners, get covered with the next layer of fabric. They really are easy to make. The most difficult part is making sure your first squares on either end, are pretty much opposite of each other.

They are gorgeous Egulch, and I love your neat, organised fabric cupboard. I have to show my sister, she will be very envious. Thank you Clarabelle. I did that with my fabrics about 3 years ago. It makes it so easy to find just the right color or print. I bought comic book boards to wrap the fabric around.

I was just thinking that the 3 x 2.5 inch pieces of fabric gave a less bulky look and the ball keeps its shape a bit better.
You fold 1cm down (across the 3 inch part of the fabric)
Then the pin goes under that half way across...........(so it is still hidden)
That way when the fabric is folded into its triangles there isnt a 4 thickness of the fabric..........and it sits better.
I guess I need to try both and see what I prefer.
