This 'sudden urge' thingie must be catching. I hardly ever do any baking these day,s but I made and decorated two small Christmas cakes this week and today I made a batch of mince pies.

You inspired me.
I put up our little fibre optic tree after I saw yours. We won’t be here for Christmas Day so it’s not worth doing the whole big disaster.
I did put our Christmas Whale out on the front balcony. It’s a “thing” in our town these days, there are more and more every year.

I've only put up our small tree this year as our large one bit the dust last year so until I get around to buying a new one the small one will do. It's up on a side table to give it some height.
I put up the outside lights earlier in the week and one night only one set of the coloured Icicle lights worked, then the following night that lot didn't and the other lot suddenly worked, turned out to be a battery issue so have replaced them and all good.
Still trying to decide if we will put the blow up Santa up on top of the Carport or not but will decide by the end of the weekend.
Some exciting news my niece and her partner got engaged today, some great news leading into Christmas.

On Thursday it was a freezing day here and I started to put decs on the tree but wasn't getting into it. The tree is old and getting a bit sparse now so it takes extra time to get it right (cover gaps etc). Will have another go another day.

I had to add a few old decorations. I love white ornaments but the tree was looking a bit too white so I put some old red cheapies on. Got them out of the elf bowl  |

Our whale jumped off the verandah yesterday! It was so windy he broke his cable ties and blew right off!

True. I only bought for one child this year.
It's so hard buying for kids her age. Nearly all the suitable toys have batteries, and some even have button batteries. What sort of idiot puts a button battery in a two year old's toy?

Our tree is in the kitchen this year..................had to be somewhere out of reach of little fingers. It is on top of my wooden box...........which the kids call "the coffin" Only trouble is I cant get a good photo in front of the window.  Here are our stockings hanging in the lounge.  |
