In the southern United States people eat “greens” and black eyed peas. Sometimes with pork jowl 🐷 .
🤮 to all of that!
I don’t remember any special food when I lived in California. We just drank champagne 🍾 🥂 and watched the Rose Bowl Parade in the morning.

I wish we did. We could use some luck in NSW right now 😟
I think we are doing pork on the bbq rotisserie, with salads. The 2nd shift is arriving today and we’re doing a Christmas Day mini redo. I’ve even put the Christmas tree lights back on

Being born and raised in Illinois....the good luck food is Great Northern beans..
We have them every New Year's..smothered in diced onions and sweet cornbread...
I hate to think what our lives would have been like if we didn't eat them ... 😆

We're going to a (smallish) restaurant tonight at 6.30 pm (table for one hour only). Not sure if that's because of covid social distancing rules, and/or recommendations people eat and leave instead of hanging around or what.
Last year we went to the same place and when it was time to leave the whole area was smothered in bushfire smoke. Very Armageddon like.
