Goblins, I'm so sorry to hear about your SIL. This pandemic is so stressful. It's affecting everyone in one way or another. I hope your SIL will turn a corner soon. The breathing is a bitch. It's awful when you can't catch your breath.
Plus Covid is affecting others in different ways. My daughter called me in tears tonight as she got a message that my Grandson's daycare is shutting down again for at least a week. This is the fourth time in the last 3 months. She's left hanging for a babysitter and it's year end in the financial industry so she's so busy at work, that she doesn't know which end is up. I'm going to go over and watch Logan tomorrow and Thursday. I'm not sure what she will do on Friday as I actually have to go into work that day. Hopefully her husband can get his schedule switched.
I'm with you on people who say old people should just stay home. What he needs to say and do, is advocate wearing masks and everyone isolating as much as possible. I'm so sick of selfish people.

Bigger is a real idiot. I hate to say that when he makes so many good posts about Trump, but reading his braggadocios posts is mind numbing.

Uh oh..deja vu
"Woolworths supermarkets put limits on toilet paper sale"
With the recent storms here some of the big supermarkets in our area lost power and had to throw out all their chilled products..they still haven't been able to restock.
Fresh veges & meat supplies are low because the workers (growers, shelf stackers etc) and delivery drivers are off work with covid.
"At Woolworths shoppers will now only be allowed to buy two packs of toilet paper and two packs of analgesic products.
At Coles it is also two packs of painkillers (applying to paracetamol, ibuprofen and aspirin), but only one pack of toilet paper.
For West Australian customers, Woolworths introduced further product limits on Thursday due to “signs of excessive buying” – a limit of two packs per customer across mince, sausages and chicken.
Coles introduced these limits on meat last week in all states except Western Australia."

On the news last night a Coles person said we are unlikely to get a shortage of fruit and veg in WA as 65% of stock is produced in WA. The meat department wasn't looking so healthy today.

Some idiot was on the news a few nights ago saying stock up on painkillers. Haven’t they worked out yet this creates panic buying and then shortages. Twats.
The lack of fresh veggies is hurting the wildlife carers/parks/zoos
The husband got his 3rd shot this morning. I couldn’t get a booking for him at the chemist ,hospital or doctors for at least a week, but get asked when he was dropping in a script this morning and they jabbed him. He still has to get a booster when the required wait time is up.
They make a big deal about the unvaccinated, on tv, but it seems to me the vaccine isn’t doing much. 8 of the 22 deaths were unvaccinated they proclaim, but that means 14 of the 22 were. 50% of covid admissions are unvaccinated, they say, but that means 50% are vaccinated.

Greg Hunt was saying that very recently. Of course as soon as he says you had better have a supply of painkillers then there is going to be a rush on them.
It's the same for other things that we've been told there might be a shortage of. Instant sell out.

I feel for those who can't stock up, and need to live from week to week.
We are always well stocked. I cook all Bonnies food and that is
always well stocked in the freezer.

If looking at today's NSW covid statistics.. "Of the 22 deaths reported on Thursday, one person was aged in their 60s, eight were in their 70s, seven were in their 80s, five were in their 90s and one person was older than 100. Fourteen were vaccinated and eight were not vaccinated."Many elderly people there.. thirteen 80-100 yrs and no information on whether any of them had underlying health conditions. That is the first time (Sydney) more vaccinated than unvaccinated in hospital. Omicron is afffecting the 18-44 approx age group more.

Shortage of fresh veges, salad ingredients here.
Just looked at Woolies online and they only have one type of toilet paper. Other types must be bought in store. Then the site froze.

Our son has tested clear and is more or less recovered. He is still quite lethargic but he’s ok. DiL and their kids have been here since Sunday and he arrived today (things are looking brighter on that front - we’re babysitting while they are having a sunset picnic)
Now our niece, the one that plays in the AFLW, has it. Her parents went to Melbourne last weekend to watch her play and are now in iso as well.
I’ve had another 3 contact alerts this week. The coast is just full of it right now with all the tourists around. Our golf club has reduced their operating hours because of staff shortages. But at least the groceries situation seems to be better. Fruit and veg were well stocked today apparently.

A friend of my Mums was diagnosed on Wednesday, Mum was around her last Friday so we are hoping she contracted it after then but Mum is monitoring herself for signs. My parents are booked in to get their boosters on Monday and hubby & I get ours on Tuesday. Minion is booked in next month.
I bought a pack of Panamax today at Chemist Warehouse as the box I had here was out of date and they said they have put a limit of one per customer but nothing stops anyone from coming back later and getting more or simply going to another store to buy it. People are being ridiculous again in the panic buying.

Hubby got his 3rd shot yesterday at the chemist, there were plenty of panadol and stuff on the shelf. I grabbed a couple of boxes of ibuprofen/panadol. They are good for back aches. He put his out lifting something really heavy. Mine goes out just from bending over too long or sitting in the wrong position. Only 22 cases in town in todays numbers.

SIL has been removed from the ventilator and is breathing on her own. Rolled her eyes. Squeezed her daughter's hand. Doctors are cautiously optimistic...... Still not out of the woods.

Excellent news. Apparently we have had our first death locally. Not
sure of the circumstances yet. Our elderly Lady from the back villa
came home 2 days ago, but very unwell I believe.

Still not out of the woods. good news Goblins... hope she is still on the improve I only have 2 nieces with covid so far.. one works in hospitality in NSW, the other is an ED nurse in Melb. Everyone is pretty much staying close to home atm Morrison stuffed up the vaccines last year and now he's stuffed up the RAT's. you'd think he would've learned something

We have around 1100 cases here but I think it's mostly kids and teenagers/young adults as my friends grandson has contracted it now, he is 18 but is doing well so far.

All 3 of our eligible grandies will have their 1st dose before school goes back. I hope that’s enough for them 🥺 The other 2 are still under 5yo.

I woke up really sick yesterday with what I'm assuming is a cold. Sore throat, runny nose, and horrible cough (I've had the cough since August when I was last sick with a cold). I'm hoping it isn't Omicron, but I don't plan to go get tested. I'm not leaving my house until I feel 100% human again. I'm really tired of this. People in our office are calling out sick, right and left.

Can someone in your family get you a rapid antigen test? I'd want to know what it is.

Do your legs hurt, Egulch?
I heard that is one thing Omicron has that regular
Covid does not.
Stay cozy, baby yourself, and get better.

But then I'm gobbling down Tyelenol like it's going out of style because of a splitting sinus headache that I can't seem to shake. My damned nose is just draining constantly.
