hi Cy i can make myself partially disappear . anyway , my partners father (i say partner to irk social conservatives ) has an extensive collection of tricks and magic paraphernalia . he keeps it locked away now as he believes Satan is behind it all , pity really . i find the tricks interesting enough , i had a friend who considered himself a card sharp, he was a reasonable practitioner but a thoroughly dishonest bastard .

There's nothing evil behind it...It's just fun entertainment, and something you can carry around in your pocket....As an example, I went out to dinner with my little nephew and family and I brought along a cheap little trick I bought at the local magic shop.....I started doing this at the table, and it was endless fun...I had little glowing balls coming out every orifice......And there was this singer in the corner that they had hired for entertainment, but my little cheap trick started capturing the attention of the whole restaurant, before I realized it...
Eventually I showed my nephew and mom the gimmick, and for the rest of the evening we were taking turns pulling glowing balls of light out of our noses and eye sockets.....You can't put a price on entertainment like that...What otherwise could have been another boring dinner turned into a memorable experience, all from the use of a cheap gimmick that made everyone laugh....That's all magic is to me...it's more of a comedy routine than anything else...Instant entertainment you can keep in your pocket....You can't put a price on that....
Here's another one that I've been doing for people....and it's just instant mystery....It's a classic of magic but everyone loves this routine, with three pieces of ordinary rope.....It's amazing what kind of priceless, entertainment and memories you can produce from such simple objects that just fit into the pocket...
Here's another routine that I've bought, which I love because it's an entire routine.....Again, the experience you can create with such simple objects creates that feeling of mystery and wonder that people do not forget.....That's the TRUE power of this entertainment art form...

I know there's nothing evil about it , he's the one who needs convincing i'm afraid . it's great that you can share it with a nephew , i guess you'd be considered a fun uncle which is good in my book . my uncle kept harassing me to install air conditioning without paying me ..

He also has a great rope trick as well that fools Penn and Teller, but I know how it's done...

When he goes into his pocket for the scissors towards the end, he also palms a ball of rope that already has the knots on it....He really does cut his other piece of rope into many little pieces, but when he goes to throw all the knots away, he also gets rid of the pieces of the other rope and finishes clean...

This is really a good Chinese Linking Rings routine as well....only much cheaper than the other one above.... www.ellusionist.com/messado-linking-rings-magic.htmlI think they all pretty much work on the same principals.....Isn't it funny that great magic tricks don't have to be much more than the old school stuff that they were doing with ropes, rings, and cards, 100 years ago.....The old classics still amaze...That's what I love about magic tricks....These little cheap gimmicks that pack so small....something that you can carry around in your pocket, can play so huge and produce so much entertainment value.....It really is priceless....Something modern cell phones can't really compete with....
