he was a brave and honorable man. i disagreed with his political views 90% of the time, but that doesn't change my feelings of respect and admiration...deepest sympathies to his family and friends...

"ditto" Sin.. he came here to our Parliament not long ago... while I didn't agree with his political views (mostly) I can see that he was a brave man and one who stood by what he believed in, at all costs
so quick wasn't it... they just announced that he was no longer recieving treatment... and then he was gone

I listened to a man on CNN this morning who was Kavanaugh's room -mate at Yale. he hasn't even been interviewed. he said his account was different to Kavanaugh's. they were only going to interview 4 people apparently... but they interviewed 6 and finished the investigation early
apparently heaps of people contacted the FBI with info.. but none of them were interviewed, nieher were Kavanaugh and Ford

Deb, it is because the Republicans are afraid of losing too many seats in the House and maybe even the Senate.
If that happens the Democrats will have the power to put off confirming a Justice of Republican choice.
Ideally, to stall until Trump is voted out in 20/20.

Do you have minor parties or independents in your senate?
I wish we could give some of ours the boot mid term... so many are voted in on their promises and as soon as they are,they do the exact opposite of what they've said.. unfortunately for us they've just extended their terms

The two party system is locked in.....I believe that there are only two "independents".
So far it has been nearly impossible to get elected to office unless a declared member of either the Republican or Democratic party.
I suppose the main reason is campaign funding.
