there are a few leaks about the ending on-line now... and there are a few alternative endings. Sansa is the smart one.. we've got some good things and some bad things to get through yet my daughter got called into work unexpectedly today (it's her day off and she's been looking forward to watching GOT this morning) so she's organized to go in AFTER GOT screens  |

That is funny Deb. We are organising our lives around it slightly too as we ensure no appointments on a Monday :)
OH is just making coffee before we settle down to watch it at 11. I don't want to know spoilers so I hope nothing becomes too obvious. I am being very careful not to click on anything that might remotely give away the ending.

so, what we can see is that Daenerys has lost trust in everyone... and now everyone has lost faith in Daenerys judgement
if only she had heeded the bells and gone straight to Cersei
gone are the hound and his brother the mountain
Cersie and Jamie (I think) and Euron Greyjoy
and of course Varys

I have absolutely no idea how this is going to end next week. Daenerys can’t sit on the Iron Throne now after what she did. Jon can’t just slink back to Winterfel after what she did. Arya can’t just ride off into the sunset on some random horse.
Any theories I had have gone completely out the window.
Lena Headey is an amazing actor. She somehow manages to convey so much with just the tiniest flicker.

I always refuse to answer the phone and have told people not to contact me between certain times on Mondays since GoT came back on, didn't stop my Boss last Monday morning as I don't work Mondays but he rang I didn't answer he rang again, I didn't answer, he sent messages I didn't answer  I did reply eventually and reminded him I was watching GoT Yes if only she had of Deb, I thought she was going to make a beeline and crispy her but nope she laid waste to Kings Landing. I would say now it will get down to a dingdong between her and Jon somehow maybe. I reckon Dave won't like that Cersei got a kind of mushy ending with Jamie in the Crypt, well we presume they are both dead as it would take a miracle for them to have survived. |

My husband is not convinced Cersei and Jamie are dead. I think they are, but it was quite unsatisfying to just have them squashed by falling masonry.

It's a shame after 7 series of Daenerys being the "free-er of slaves" and "the saviour of the innocent" seeing a complete turn around of her character... she's one of my favourite characters, but I realize it's over for her now
The actress Amelia Clarke? Had an aneurism at age 24. And was filming GOT during recovery from brain surgery.. some people claim her acting was bad...(the episode when she said "where are my dragons'). But I've always thought she was pretty good.. that she remembered her lines when she was recovering from surgery is pretty amazing I think

Didn't like it. Looks like it's chick flick time for the duration, which is one final episode. Too much sappy romantic and emotional angst and not enough battle and fighting and political intrigue. The battle for KL was way too short and one-sided. As was the Long Night. Too much character interplay and lovey dovey bullshit eating up too much time.
Not sure what the heroine of Winterfell was doing running around KL like a little lost puppy. That made no sense to me at all. The taking of KL was just too damn easy. Did the Golden Company even draw swords? I must've missed it if they did.
Not satisfactory and I would guess the final episode will be even worse. More time for sappy emotional soap-opera type angst.

I feel a bit like the writers have rushed through this last series ...apparently their next project is some "starwars" triology which they wanted to get started on

Have seen that before Deb, the funny moments is what makes it good.
So many fans upset mainly I think because their fan theories haven't come to fruition, that's their expectations and that's the thing with Thrones it thrives on not giving you what you expect, to me that is what makes it such a great show. I think some have expected some kind of Disney ending, yeah not gonna happen. I know I would've liked more Dragons but wasn't disappointed to not see any.
But one point that keeps coming up is that Daenerys has been heading down this path since the first season they've been building to it afterall she said she'd take back what was hers with fire and blood, she'd mentioned at Qarth about burning cities to the ground.
I did laugh at Qyburns death, it was funny.
Today one fan site has suggested that Jaime is still alive something to do with no other cast members giving him a instagram send off which is common when someones character dies and some interviewer that always interviews them when their character is killed off, who knows could be interesting.
Can't wait for Monday to see what happens.

I have one friend who has watched GoT but she hasn't watched any of season 8 yet so we aren't talking about it yet, we will in time when she gets around to watching it.
I just read that they reckon Bran Stark will be the new King after Jon kills Daenerys and he refuses the throne and goes back north, that would be funny but maybe that is the bittersweet who knows, maybe they'll split them back up into seven kingdoms and there will be no Iron Throne.
Whichever way it ends will still enjoy it.

Bran is neither desirous or suited for the throne. He is a lump of protoplasm. I swear I have never understood his part. He hasn't done a damn thing since forever. The only power he apparently has rests in the universe of his head and nowhere else. Even during the Long Nite battle he flew ravens to see where the NK was.....apparently just to see where the NK was. It did nothing. He exists on a higher, or lower, plane of existence. Mere kingships mean nothing to him. Could you imagine him sitting and giving counsel at the High Council? He'd talk in enough riddles that everyone else would leave confused as hell and nothing would ever get done. That twist simply would make no sense.
